#ReleaseTheSnyderCut: HBO Max Releasing ‘Justice League’ Snyder Cut In 2021

The fans have spoken, and WarnerMedia has listened.

After years of calls to release director Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League, WarnerMedia essentially confirmed that the cut does indeed exist by suddenly announcing it will premiere on HBO Max in 2021. The full press release can be read here, but the title simply states: “HBO Max to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut”.

In the middle of production, Snyder—the director of Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice—was replaced by Joss Whedon to direct Justice League, which led to a Marvel-like lighter version compared to the darkness of the previous two films.

But the film began with Snyder at the helm, and fans were relentless in pushing for Warner Bros. to release his version with the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. The movement was big enough that stars Ben Affleck (who played Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and the other main characters have publicly pushed the hashtag on social media.

Just last night, Momoa said “Release the ****ing Snyder Cut” on his Instagram story, and then posted to celebrate today’s announcement moments ago.

Snyder himself had a simple post on Twitter, and he was the one to actually break the news about the cut during a live Man of Steel commentary with Cavill this morning.

Fans will be able to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League exclusively on HBO Max next year.
