Strengths
Great overall movement skills and quick feet. Very instinctive player. Tremendous speed and acceleration. Good length for his size. Very fluid in the side shuffle. Extremely quick to burst out of the backpedal. Excellent technique in press coverage. Strong and accurate checking with his hands. Matches releases coming out of the press. Stays balanced to mirror early in routes. Low and athletic mirroring in general. Exceptional ability to detect and stick with vertical routes. Knows when to transition from backpedal to side shuffle. Very fluid flipping his hips. Doesn’t bite on double moves. Terrific feel for getting his head around defending downfield throws. Pins opponents to the boundary to create smaller windows. Essentially throws his body around to prevent a completion if needed. Stays in the hip pocket of receivers on corner routes. Quick to close off separation with the ball in the air. Outstanding burst to break on throws in front of him. Aggressive jumping in to break up passes at the catch point. Gets on top of receivers and accurately pokes throws away without committing a penalty on underneath throws. Speed allows him to stay right on drag routes. Able to match up with bigger opponents in coverage. Has defended tight ends in man coverage. Great play recognition to read the quarterback and shuffle around as a zone defender. Will take the ball away and had six interceptions as a true freshman. Lined up at both outside cornerback spots and has experience playing man coverage in the slot. Fast as a blitzer. Does a nice job flowing into position versus the run. Effective grabbing and throwing a blocker off him to disengage. Doesn’t back down from bigger/stronger opponents. Very willing to stick his head in to tackle. Securely wraps up when able to be the aggressor. Aggressive getting in on gang tackles. Doesn’t tip his hand as a blitzer and had a pressure that led to an interception by Caleb Williams (USC 2023). Dropped off his man for a highlight leaping interception versus Caleb Williams (USC 2023). Played excellent versus Marvin Harrison Jr. and a talented group of Ohio State wide receivers (2023).
Weaknesses
Average in terms of overall size/weight. Needs to be careful about subtle grabs that he often got away with. Will grab the shoulder from the trail position defending over routes. Sometimes slow reacting to route breaks when in retreat mode. Footwork could be more consistent to prevent getting turned around and using opposite spin in an attempt to recover. Lacks strength as a square-up tackler versus downhill ball-carriers. Recovering from a hip injury that ended his 2024 season in October.

Conclusion
Overall, Morrison is an aggressive cornerback that can play a variety of coverages at a high level and showed extremely well versus top competition. If he has a clean bill of health, Morrison should draw consideration as at least a top-15 pick.
