Strengths
Prototype overall size for a modern linebacker. Fiery and aggressive. Great versatility with experience playing on the edge. Excellent speed. Square and ready to react defending the run. Very fast with a clean path into the backfield. Extremely quick hands to shed. Twitchy to side step blocks on the second level. Tremendous quickness to work underneath blocks. Strikes squarely as a tackler. Forceful wrapping up. Excellent on run blitzes. Works fast and avoids blockers. Corrals ball-carriers that attempt to change direction. Terrific acceleration to get into a full sprint after changing direction. Great pursuit towards the sideline. Wraps up through opponents to tackle in space. Active communicator calling things out before and/or early in the play. Has fluidity and bend as a rusher. Stays on his toes while tracking as a quarterback spy. Fast and covers a ton of ground in coverage. Moves his feet very well as a zone defender. Very fluid flipping his hips in coverage. Light movement skills and will try to float/leap into passing lanes. Quick feet and outstanding burst reacting to route breaks and will look to undercut throws. Good feel for spacing when covering routes in the flat. Will stay towards the middle of the field to occupy space with the confidence he can come down to make the tackle. Had a pass breakup at the goal line on LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy (2024). Dropped underneath a route behind him for an interception versus Georgia (2024). Said there was no question he would play in Alabama’s bowl game.
Weaknesses
Slower to diagnose things when facing play fakes and misdirection. Sometimes has no idea where the ball is after play-action fakes. Will take a false step and doesn’t seem to fully trust what he sees. Would like to see him be more aware to defeat blocks coming from the side when in between the tackles. Can get pinned inside defending the run. Not as instinctive handling traditional run duties (particularly near the goal line). Too high taking on ball-carriers in the hole. Trucked on a touchdown run by Vanderbilt (2024). Can get controlled some defending the run as an edge.

Conclusion
Overall, Campbell is a fast, aggressive, and versatile linebacker with forceful finishing ability and very impressive cover talent. His skillset would be maximized with plenty of opportunities to be on the attack as a run defender to limit some of the inconsistencies.
