2025 MLB Power Rankings: April 7

With a few series in the books, the latest 2025 MLB power rankings include the Phillies at No. 1.

1. Philadelphia Phillies (7-2) | Last week: 3 (+2)

The Phillies take the top spot after a weekend series win over the defending champion Dodgers. Philadelphia is now 8-2 in their past 10 games versus LA. They’ll meet again in September.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers (9-2) | Last week: 1 (-1)

While they ultimately lost the series at Citizens Bank Park, the Dodgers started the season 8-0—the best mark ever for a team coming off a World Series title.

3. San Diego Padres (8-2) | Last week: 7 (+4)

The Padres swept the Braves and Guardians to start 7-0 before dropping the series versus the Cubs. Matchups with the A’s and Rockies this week could allow them to pad this great start.

4. New York Yankees (6-3) | Last week: 2 (-2)

The bats are no issue for the Yankees, with the torpedo bats taking the majors by storm led by the Bronx Bombers. New York might need to make a move for a starting pitcher in a few months.

5. San Francisco Giants (8-1) | Last week: 21 (+16)

Through roughly 10 games, the Giants are the surprise team in baseball after an 8-1 start. San Fran hosts the Reds before heading east to take on the Yankees and Phillies.

6. Texas Rangers (8-2) | Last week: 9 (+3)

The Rangers have a negative run differential but sit at 8-2 after winning each of their first three series of the season. The pitching has been excellent so far.

7. New York Mets (6-3) | Last week: 8 (+1)

The pitching for the Mets has been the best in baseball to this point, with an insane 1.91 ERA. Look for Juan Soto (.250, one home run) to heat up soon.

8. Boston Red Sox (6-4) | Last week: 5 (-3)

Alex Bregman racked up four hits and six RBI, while Rafael Devers appears firmly out of his slump with four hits himself, to help Boston handle St. Louis by an 18-7 margin on Sunday.

9. Chicago Cubs (7-5) | Last week: 13 (+4)

The Cubs began the week with an 18-run outburst against the Athletics, and they then took the first two games of a three-game series versus the Padres. The Rangers and Dodgers will be good tests for a squad that’s 7-3 since Opening Day in the United States.

10. Baltimore Orioles (4-6) | Last week: 6 (-4)

The Orioles haven’t won a series yet (splitting four games to begin the year), but they’ve only played one series at home so far and remain in the top 10 for now.

11. Detroit Tigers (5-4) | Last week: 16 (+5)

12. Arizona Diamondbacks (5-5) | Last week: 11 (-1)

13. Houston Astros (4-5) | Last week: 10 (-3)

14. Milwaukee Brewers (5-5) | Last week: 15 (+1)

15. Atlanta Braves (1-8) | Last week: 4 (-11)

16. Toronto Blue Jays (5-5) | Last week: 14 (-2)

17. Kansas City Royals (4-5) | Last week: 19 (+2)

18. Los Angeles Angels (6-3) | Last week: 26 (+8)

19. Tampa Bay Rays (4-5) | Last week: 18 (-1)

20. St. Louis Cardinals (4-5) | Last week: 23 (+3)

21. Minnesota Twins (3-6) | Last week: 17 (-4)

22. Cleveland Guardians (3-6) | Last week: 20 (-2)

23. Seattle Mariners (3-7) | Last week: 12 (-11)

24. Miami Marlins (5-4) | Last week: 27 (+3)

25. Washington Nationals (3-6) | Last week: 25

26. Pittsburgh Pirates (3-7) | Last week: 22 (-4)

27. Oakland Athletics (4-6) | Last week: 28 (+1)

28. Cincinnati Reds (3-7) | Last week: 24 (-4)

29. Chicago White Sox (2-7) | Last week: 30 (+1)

30. Colorado Rockies (2-7) | Last week: 29 (-1)
