2025 MLB Power Rankings: April 14

National League teams pace the latest 2025 MLB power rankings.

1. San Diego Padres (13-3) | Last week: 3 (+2)

Capped by a complete game two-hitter by Michael King, the Padres shut out the Rockies in three consecutive games—the first time a team has done that since 2017.

2. New York Mets (10-5) | Last week: 7 (+5)

Since dropping their opening series versus the Astros, the Mets have won four straight series behind a pitching staff that’s exceeded expectations so far.

3. Philadelphia Phillies (9-6) | Last week: 1 (-2)

Zack Wheeler had an off outing in yesterday’s loss at St. Louis, and the Phillies’ bats went cold in two series losses last week.

4. Chicago Cubs (11-7) | Last week: 9 (+5)

An aggressive Cubs club won series over the Rangers and Dodgers, but they’ve lost All-Star pitcher Justin Steele for the year due to an elbow injury.

5. San Francisco Giants (11-4) | Last week: 5

The Giants took a three-game series in the Bronx, and they’ll be tested again with four games at Citizens Bank Park starting tonight.

6. Los Angeles Dodgers (11-6) | Last week: 2 (-4)

The Dodgers suffered their worst-ever shutout loss at home, getting blanked by the Cubs, 16-0. Los Angeles should get back on track against the Rockies.

7. New York Yankees (8-7) | Last week: 4 (-3)

The highest ranked team in the American League, the Yankees take on the Royals and Rays this week in what’s a very crowded early season AL.

8. Seattle Mariners (8-8) | Last week: 23 (+15)

Winners of four consecutive games, the Mariners won their series versus the Astros before sweeping the Rangers over the weekend. Since bouncing back from the slow start to the season, they’ve also shut down any trade discussions on pitcher Luis Castillo.

9. Detroit Tigers (9-6) | Last week: 11 (+2)

The Tigers are 9-3 against teams other than the Dodgers to begin 2025, and they spot a 5-1 mark at home.

10. Arizona Diamondbacks (9-7) | Last week: 12 (+2)

The Diamondbacks take a top 10 spot after a 4-2 week, and an upcoming weekend series with the Cubs in a battle of two offenses off to good starts is one to watch.

12. Boston Red Sox (8-9) | Last week: 8 (-4)
