The top five of the 2025 NFL Week 3 power rankings remain locked in, but there’s plenty of movement after Philadelphia through Baltimore.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) | Last week: 1
Rookie safety Andrew Mukuba looks like a ball magnet and made a clutch fourth-quarter interception with the Chiefs looking to take the lead. He’s one of the latest additions in a collection of players who just know how to win.
2. Buffalo Bills (2-0) | Last week: 2
If Joey Bosa plays like he did against the Jets on Sunday, the Bills are going to have a legitimate shot to finally make some stops and get out of the AFC. James Cook had 132 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Week 2 win, with Buffalo again showing off their balanced offense.
3. Green Bay Packers (2-0) | Last week: 3
Speaking of balanced offenses, Matt LaFleur is already cooking with the way defenses are being attacked. Pair that with an impressive defense, and Green Bay has legitimate Super Bowl hopes.
4. Los Angeles Chargers (2-0) | Last week: 4
The start of the season couldn’t have gone much better for the Chargers, who followed up their win over the Chiefs by stifling the Raiders—and improving to 2-0 while KC drops to 0-2. Justin Herbert is playing at an elite level with Quentin Johnston stepping up next to Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen.
5. Baltimore Ravens (1-1) | Last week: 5
A tad lost in all the Week 2 news was the Ravens emphatically bouncing back with a 41-17 win over the Browns which included four touchdown passes by Lamar Jackson. If teams try to take away Derrick Henry, Jackson can torch you—and vice versa.
6. Detroit Lions (1-1) | Last week: 8 (+2)
The Lions also put their disappointing Week 1 behind them, tagging the Bears for 52 points in Ben Johnson’s return to Detroit. Jared Goff threw five touchdown passes (three to Amon-Ra St. Brown), and Jameson Williams put up “Randy Moss numbers” with the group lighting it up.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0) | Last week: 9 (+2)
Winning close games is key for any championship club, and the Bucs have already taken two in that department with last-minute wins against the Falcons and Texans—both on the road. The Eagles are on deck, but Tampa will first host the Jets this Sunday.
8. Los Angeles Rams (2-0) | Last week: 10 (+2)
The Titans are a tougher opponent than you might realize, but the Rams separated late for a 33-19 victory. Both Davante Adams (6/106/1) and Puka Nacua (8/91, along with a 45-yard touchdown run) had big games at Tennessee, which is something we should see often in 2025.
9. San Francisco 49ers (2-0) | Last week: 12 (+3)
Mac Jones looked really good for the 49ers, going 26/39 for 279 yards and three touchdowns at New Orleans. He can have a ton of success with Kyle Shanahan, and the Niners now play at home the next two weeks.
10. Denver Broncos (1-1) | Last week: 6 (-4)
Denver fans can be pretty furious over a questionable leverage call on what would’ve been a game-sealing 60-yard field goal miss by the Colts, but the defense must be better for all the talent on that side of the ball. As a positive, wide receiver Troy Franklin (8/89/1 in the loss) looks extremely confident in Year 2.
11. Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) | Last week: 7 (-4)
I didn’t expect the Chiefs would fall outside the top 10 of NFL power rankings anytime soon. To be clear, they are not being written off by me—they can get healthier at wide receiver and/or suddenly find a rhythm. But a few 2-0 teams deserve to rise, and Kansas City has obviously not looked like their typical selves so far.
12. Indianapolis Colts (2-0) | Last week: 17 (+5)
I’m feeling really good about the Colts having a realistic shot to win the AFC South with how they’ve looked at 2-0. They’re the first team in the Super Bowl era to not punt through two games. Jonathan Taylor looks set for another monster season, and Daniel Jones is legit in this positive situation for Shane Steichen.
13. Arizona Cardinals (2-0) | Last week: 18 (+5)
They looked to be in total control in Week 2, but the Cardinals needed another stop on the final drive to secure a victory and a 2-0 start. That’s huge in what looks like a stacked NFC West—with divisional matchups with the Niners and Seahawks up next.
14. Seattle Seahawks (1-1) | Last week: 19 (+5)
Similarly, the Seahawks would’ve been in a tough spot at 0-2 with the other three NFC West teams among the NFL’s 10 unbeaten squads—but Mike Macdonald’s group went into Pittsburgh to get a gritty win. It was nice to see Kenneth Walker III get going with 105 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, and Cooper Kupp (seven receptions for 90 yards) looked good at receiver.
15. Atlanta Falcons (1-1) | Last week: 20 (+5)
The “juice” expected for Atlanta’s defense shined in the Sunday night win at Minnesota—holding a high-powered offense to under 200 yards while getting six sacks and four takeaways. They’ll look to feast on a banged-up offensive line at Carolina this weekend.
16. Washington Commanders (1-1) | Last week: 11 (-5)
I’m anxious to see how Marcus Mariota performs at quarterback this season after very quietly playing just as well as Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels when he was in there last season. Daniels hasn’t quite looked like himself so far in 2025 and was mostly shut down by Green Bay, but hopefully he gets back to full strength soon. And best wishes to running back Austin Ekeler (Achilles) and defensive end Deatrich Wise (quad), as they’re both done for the year.
17. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) | Last week: 14 (-3)
You cannot look ahead, but that was a missed opportunity for Pittsburgh at home to start 2-0—as they figure to be favored the next four weeks (at NE, vs. MIN, vs. CLE, at CIN). Playing through Jaylen Warren might be a good path to open things up for everyone after the way he looked in the loss to the Seahawks.
18. Houston Texans (1-1) | Last week: 16 (-2)
Nick Chubb came through with a late go-ahead touchdown, but the Texans feel like everything is difficult on offense to this point—and the offensive line struggling plays a big role in that. At Jacksonville will be a key early-season test in the division.
19. Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) | Last week: 13 (-6)
While I drop the Bengals six spots despite a 2-0 start, I’m definitely not counting out Jake Browning playing well and keeping Cincy in contention for a potential December return for Joe Burrow. Browning has the opportunity to throw to Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, and it was cool to see Mitchell Tinsley take his great summer into the regular season with a spectacular touchdown grab.
20. Dallas Cowboys (1-1) | Last week: 21 (+1)
It was not the type of game we expected, and the Dallas defense must be a lot better than that, but the bottom line is the Cowboys got their first win under Brian Schottenheimer. Kicker Brandon Aubrey was one of the MVPs of the NFL in Week 2 by sending the game to overtime and winning it as time expired.
21. Minnesota Vikings (1-1) | Last week: 15 (-6)
Of course, you don’t want to see anyone get hurt, but J.J. McCarthy taking a step back to recharge with his high-ankle sprain might not be the worst thing for him and the Vikings after seven bad quarters through eight quarters played. We’ll see if Carson Wentz pulls the trigger on throws and threatens the defense down the field with Justin Jefferson and company a little more.
22. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) | Last week: 23 (+1)
People made a big deal about Trevor Lawrence waving off his head coach Liam Coen in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals, but I think it’s a worse look that Coen was publicly and demonstrably yelling at his quarterback to throw more accurate passes. I don’t think I’ve seen that before, and it’s probably something that should be saved for team meetings.
23. Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) | Last week: 22 (-1)
Geno Smith no doubt struggled in the 20-9 loss versus the Chargers, but we should give a lot of credit to the LA defense for the way it played. The offensive line for Vegas is a concern. As a positive, they’re playing with big-time energy on defense.
24. New England Patriots (1-1) | Last week: 28 (+4)
Drake Maye had one of his best games in the win over the Dolphins, and it’s a great sign for New England to get a rare road win against the division rival. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson had a strong outing which included a fantastic catch down the field, and we haven’t even seen rookie runner TreVeyon Henderson unleashed yet.
25. Chicago Bears (0-2) | Last week: 24 (-1)
With the way the Vikings looked against the Falcons, the first three quarters of defense for the Bears don’t look as impressive now. There’s clearly a long way to go for Chicago, and now star cornerback Jaylon Johnson (groin) might miss the rest of the season.
26. Cleveland Browns (0-2) | Last week: 25 (-1)
A highlight for the Browns is how good rookie running back Quinshon Judkins looked in his first NFL action. He appears big and difficult to bring down with good speed and pace. If they can get him going as a workhorse, it’d help establish an identity for the team.
27. Tennessee Titans (0-2) | Last week: 26 (-1)
The wheels fell off a little bit late, but the Titans gave the Rams a good battle for three quarters in Week 2. The defense has another challenge against the Colts as they look to make things tighter in the AFC South.
28. New Orleans Saints (0-2) | Last week: 31 (+3)
The Saints rise a few spots despite their loss to the 49ers, as they again looked better than expected—and there are opportunities that have been left on the field, too.
29. New York Giants (0-2) | Last week: 32 (+3)
With Russell Wilson playing incredibly determined football amidst all the talk about Jaxson Dart being set to take over at quarterback soon, the Giants get out of the No. 32 spot after the shootout loss to the Cowboys. The heavily-invested-in defensive front must get after Patrick Mahomes on Sunday night.
30. New York Jets (0-2) | Last week: 27 (-3)
Justin Fields didn’t see some open receivers as both he and the Jets as a team struggled mightily against the Bills. Consistency might be an issue all year for New York.
31. Miami Dolphins (0-2) | Last week: 30 (-1)
Not getting a home win against the Patriots is not a great sign for the Dolphins looking to get back on track—particularly with a trip to Buffalo tomorrow night.
32. Carolina Panthers (0-2) | Last week: 29 (-3)
The Panthers somehow made it a game with an onside kick recovery, but it’s been mostly very ugly through two games—and now Robert Hunt and Austin Corbett are out for a while (likely the season) on the offensive line.
