The fantasy football trade market is heating up, and now is the time to make a league-winning move. Five weeks into the season, your leaguemates may be starting to panic about their underperforming superstars. This is your opportunity to buy low. In the latest YouTube video from Wolf Sports, we use our film-based scouting and talent identification to share the top fantasy football trade targets for Week 6, including why it’s the perfect time to acquire players like A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry before their value skyrockets.
Eagles WR A.J. Brown
The most obvious trade target is Brown, who was a second-round pick in most leagues but has averaged 3.8 fantasy points per game outside of his 6/109/1 line in Week 3’s win over the Rams. The star receiver’s frustration has been well publicized, but he should get right soon. First-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo is still finding his groove as a play-caller, so we should see more creativity from the route tree of Brown—and teammate DeVonta Smith, who is another good fantasy trade target. After Patrick Surtain II did a nice job on Brown last week, now is the time to see if you can acquire him at a discount. Don’t be surprised if AJB goes off against the Giants in Week 6 and doesn’t look back.
Lions WR Jameson Williams
While not someone who is likely to get the type of target numbers as Brown, Jameson Williams has had a similar start to the season—one huge game with Randy Moss numbers (two receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown), and four quiet outings. Unfortunately, Lions left tackle Taylor Decker being out was a blow to downfield shots, and it was sort of a Sam LaPorta game for the Detroit passing attack in a major Week 5 disappointment at Cincinnati. But Jamo was a top-20 wide receiver last season and can probably be obtained in a trade for a very cheap price. You could do a lot worse than someone from one of the league’s top teams and offenses, an electric player who has week-winning upside in your FLEX for plus matchups.
Broncos QB Bo Nix
At quarterback, Bo Nix is off to a solid start to the season from both a real-life and fantasy perspective, but there’s room for more—making him an ideal trade target at quarterback. The Broncos have just missed on chunk plays through five games, whether it’s receivers not quite adjusting to deep throws, the timing being slightly off, or Nix barely missing bomb throws. The tide can turn quickly to hits on those plays, leading to an avalanche of fantasy points. Currently outside the top 10 among fantasy quarterbacks, the second-year passer can get closer to the top five the rest of the way.
Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson
On to a couple of rookies. It’s too late to target Commanders running back Bill Croskey-Merritt after his breakout game against the Chargers has him set to be closer to a workhorse quicker than expected. And Browns rookie star Quinshon Judkins, who looks like a total stud in Kevin Stefanski’s offense, has been too productive to get for a steal at this point. But one of our themes is to bet on the talent. Patriots second-round rookie TreVeyon Henderson definitely qualifies. Antonio Gibson sadly suffered a season-ending knee injury in the upset win against the Bills; and, though Rhamondre Stevenson scored twice, he fumbled again. Ultimately, Henderson is too explosive to keep off the field too much throughout the course of the season. He shouldn’t be used in lineups yet but is an excellent bench stash for down the stretch.
Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr.
Next is Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. He’s actually already been usable in lineups with at least four targets in every game as a versatile piece for Cleveland. He works in tandem with veteran David Njoku, and the upside is probably capped as long as Njoku remains on the field. However, while Njoku is a piece the Browns love and haven’t traded in past years despite rumors, would it be that shocking if they deal him to a contender before the trade deadline? It’s probably not likely, but Fannin is owned in just 24 percent of leagues on ESPN, and the third-rounder undoubtedly fits the mold of betting on talent. Additionally, we had him as a first-round talent in the spring, noting his athleticism and versatile skillset.
Ravens RB Derrick Henry
Finally, no doubt, the Ravens are struggling mightily as a team. If you think this’ll turn out to be a bit of a lost season for them, you might not want to make this move. But Derrick Henry has long been one of the top fantasy playoff performers and can still put up numbers when it matters most. If you’re in a good spot in your league and can take a big swing even if the next little bit is rough without Lamar Jackson in the lineup, Henry is a top target. Henry exploded for 169 rushing yards and two touchdowns at Buffalo in Week 1, and the Bills defense frankly looks clearly below average so far—other than that, the results have mostly been disappointing. But… it’s Derrick Henry. He’s not someone to bet against, and sometimes it’s as simple as that.
