Conference Championship Saturday includes a matchup of the top two teams in the nation, with plenty to be determined in terms of the CFP. College Football Playoff odds include Texas as a longshot to make the field despite their huge win over undefeated Texas A&M.
1. Ohio State Buckeyes (12-0) | Last week: 1
For the first time since 2019, Ohio State defeated Michigan—and they did it emphatically, taking on the Wolverines like they were any other team. The yardage total (419-163) was indicative of the lopsided nature of the 27-9 game once the Buckeyes got going. There’s been a ton of NCAAF latest news (some of which we’ll get to below) that’s overshadowed Ohio State finally beating their biggest rival to some extent.
2. Indiana Hoosiers (12-0) | Last week: 3 (+1)
While Purdue has struggled in 2025, it still says a lot about how much of a juggernaut Indiana has become to leave zero doubt with a 56-3 road victory. The run game and defense carried the day, with five touchdowns on the ground headlined by Roman Hemby going for 152 yards and a score on just 12 carries. With Heisman hopeful quarterback Fernando Mendoza faring much better at home than on the road this year, it’ll be interesting to see how he performs in a neutral site for the Big Ten title game versus Ohio State.
3. Georgia Bulldogs (11-1) | Last week: 4 (+1)
It was a gritty game with just 70 passing yards for the Bulldogs, but Kirby Smart’s squad controlled things against Georgia Tech with 190 yards on the ground while the defense didn’t allow more than 11 yards to a running back. Now the Dawgs have a shot at a little redemption when taking on Alabama in the SEC Championship.
4. Texas A&M Aggies (11-1) | Last week: 2 (-2)
The Texas A&M defense might have had its worst half in the loss to Texas, allowing 24 of their 27 points in the final 30 minutes—and 218 yards on the ground overall on the night. Despite being knocked out of the chance to win a conference championship, there’s plenty in front of the Aggies as a CFP lock.
5. Oregon Ducks (11-1) | Last week: 6 (+1)
Washington gave them a battle in a ranked matchup, but Oregon improved to 11-1 to lock up a spot in the College Football Playoff. Dan Lanning has consistently gotten his guys to play at a high level with multiple quarterbacks over the years. Track-speed receiver Malik Benson will be a fun player to watch as the Ducks continue their season.
6. Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-1) | Last week: 7 (+1)
Texas Tech just beat West Virginia for the Mountaineers’ worst home loss since 1891! Safe to say the Red Raiders are locked in ahead of a rematch with BYU in the Big 12 title game.
7. Ole Miss Rebels (11-1) | Last week: 5 (-2)
Perhaps the biggest news in sports right now given the controversy surrounding it is Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss—set to play in the College Football Playoff—for LSU. As for the kids with the Rebels, look for them to play inspired ball with a chance to pull off something amazing if they go on a run.
8. Oklahoma Sooners (10-2) | Last week: 8
Oklahoma won another close game over LSU, making them a near-lock to make the CFP. Brent Venables has built the Sooners as a team that can win tight matchups, and they’ve been battle-tested a bunch in the SEC this season.
9. Alabama Crimson Tide (10-2) | Last week: 10 (+1)
Isaiah Horton caught all three of Ty Simpson’s touchdown passes, with those scores obviously being key in an Iron Bowl that saw the Crimson Tide go just 4/17 on third downs—but a critical 3/3 on fourth down attempts. Auburn outgained Bama, 411-280.
10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (10-2) | Last week: 9 (-1)
Miami (which owns a season-opening win over Notre Dame), BYU, Vanderbilt, and even Texas all have a case for No. 10, but the Fighting Irish remain here after improving their winning streak to 10 games. Notre Dame has scored 49, 37, 70, and 49 points over their past four games.
