Strengths
Prototype frame and length. Very athletic and fluid movement skills. Great agility and always moving his feet as he reads things out. Outstanding burst. Controlled tackling and wrapping up after pursuing in the open field. Excellent overall play recognition. Aggressive filtering down in run support. Agile floating towards the action. Quick into the backfield. Consistently fills open running lanes and makes the tackle. Very effective wrapping up as the aggressor and getting to ball-carriers early. Accurate and effective wrapping low on ball-carriers. Very eager coming up to get in on tackles as a deep safety. Doesn’t hesitate at all to trigger downhill and make a head-on tackle. Reads the play and flies to the ball to hit. Gritty and competitive. Gets in on any tackle he can. Ideal patience to play cutbacks coming from the backside. Shows aggression into the backfield when aligned closer to the line of scrimmage. Used as a run blitzer off the edge. Dips low and around blockers to tackle on the edge. Strong using a shoulder charge to tackle. Has a knack for getting the ball out while tackling. Extremely accurate punching the ball out in the open field. Quick identifying and defending running back screens. Will deliver a crushing hit at the catch point. Rangy wrapping up after the catch. Great awareness as an underneath zone defender. Excellent instincts to read and break on throws from intermediate zone coverage. Accurate getting a hand up to swat away high passes when shaded underneath. Quick in the backpedal. Excellent feet in cover transitions. Fluid flipping his hips in deep coverage. Smoothly covers ground retreating in the side shuffle with single-high responsibility. Long to recover/disrupt at the catch point if he allows a step. Very athletic ranging towards the sideline. Terrific ball skills. Aggressively high points the ball in the air. Able to make highlight interceptions. Saw snaps playing man coverage in the slot. Will use physicality to jam opponents. Quick covering out-breaking routes. Good feet and fluidity to match pivot routes. Size and skillset to be used more in man coverage.
Weaknesses
Average deep speed and top speed. Could add more bulk based on his play style. Sort of roams at times with deeper zone responsibility. Will get flat footed and have receivers run by him. Could allow separation when opponents use physicality at the top of the route. Lacks desired strength as a wrap-up tackler when unable to be the aggressor. Lower half will get stiff and he lowers his eyes into the tackle with ball-carriers coming at him when stationary. Can get pushed out by blockers on the edge. Will guess and leave an opening for a big run.

Conclusion
Overall, McNeil-Warren is an extremely aggressive safety who supports the run at a high level with an impressive blend of size and agility. The skillset combined with his mentality should make him a very valuable piece for an NFL defense.
