As fast as 2026 NFL free agency started, there are still a bunch of players still looking to sign new deals. We’re going through each position and highlighting team fits across free agency. Which squads might make a big move in the coming days?
QB Kyler Murray: Vikings
The dots have been connected between Kyler Murray and the Vikings from the moment he was released by the Cardinals, but the longer this goes the less certain it’ll feel. However, in terms of fit, there’s no doubt the best spot for the former No. 1 overall pick is in Minnesota with Justin Jefferson and a stacked supporting cast. My thought has been that if Aaron Rodgers plays again it’ll be for the Steelers, but perhaps his mystery status is part of the holdup here.
RB Joe Mixon: Chargers
Sean Tucker and Nick Chubb are two other running backs to mention, and this is assuming full health for Joe Mixon after his foot never healed last season. If he’s fresh, Mixon would be an excellent complement to second-year back Omarion Hampton, who would benefit from someone like Mixon helping wear down defenses to eventually break off home-run gains. Kimani Vidal ran really well in 2025, but depth is huge.
WR Jauan Jennings: Chiefs
Just two seasons ago, Jauan Jennings was in the Super Bowl MVP mix in what was ultimately a second championship loss for the 49ers against the Chiefs—throwing a touchdown and catching a touchdown in an overtime thriller. So, Kansas City knows what he can do in big moment and in big games. Particularly with Rashee Rice’s status continuously uncertain due to off-field concerns, plus Travis Kelce potentially entering his final NFL season, “Third and Jauan” making its way to the Chiefs makes a ton of sense.
TE Dallas Goedert: Eagles
We’ll see what happens, but Dallas Goedert not signing with a team to this point might indicate the market isn’t quite what he expected following a career-high 11 touchdowns in 2025. Returning to the Eagles on a one- or two-year deal in a new offense where he’s set for a sizable role again is the best fit.
OT Rasheed Walker: Lions
Rumors are that All-Pro right tackle Penei Sewell will be moving to the left side after the Lions parted ways with Taylor Decker, but that hasn’t been confirmed by the team yet. It’s possible that recent signing Larry Borom is more of a swing tackle. If so, and if former Packers left tackle Rasheed Walker doesn’t feel his market developed the way he anticipated, a deal to stay in the division would be fun. Detroit has extensions coming up for more star players, so this might have to be a shorter-term deal to work, though.
G Mekhi Becton: Dolphins
The Giants might be a fit if not for Mekhi Becton’s one season with John Harbaugh’s brother Jim not going as anticipated, and the Steelers could be a match. But the Dolphins would fill a need on the offensive line—and give running back De’Von Achane a bulldozer to pave rushing lanes.
EDGE Joey Bosa: Lions
Al-Quadin Muhammad could be the guy as a fellow unrestricted free agent who had awesome stretches with 11 sacks last season. Bringing Muhammad or Marcus Davenport back wouldn’t preclude the Lions from exploring a Joey Bosa signing as well. The veteran pass rusher being able to rotate in opposite Aidan Hutchinson can potentially help Detroit put games away.
DT Christian Wilkins: Jaguars
Of course, Christian Wilkins didn’t play all of 2025 after the odd situation and release from the Raiders. However, if he’s healthy and ready to get back on the field this season, the Jaguars would be a tremendous fit.
LB Bobby Wagner: Cowboys
While understandably far more vulnerable in coverage than he was for most of his career, Bobby Wagner can still make plays into his mid-30s, as he showed for the Commanders the past two seasons. For a team looking to get tougher defensively, the leadership of the veteran linebacker is the type of thing they might need to get on track.
CB Tre’Davious White: Bills
I’m not sure people realize how well Tre’Davious White played for the Bills last season. While there’s a chance they want to go with 2025 first-rounder Maxwell Hairston as a clear outside starter opposite Christian Benford, the former All-Pro White has shown he just works in Buffalo—and he has the skill and versatility to adjust to the new scheme of defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.
S Geno Stone: Bears
The Bears just lost All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Patriots, and replacing him won’t be easy. Though not as athletic and rangy as Byard, Geno Stone will at least bring some of the instincts to make plays and take the ball away with at least two interceptions in each of the past three seasons—including seven in 2023 with the Ravens.
