Strengths

Solid overall size. Quick feet on release. Uses shake into the route and burst out of cuts on quick slants. Gets separation on slant routes at various depths. Able to bring in throws on his back hip. Secures the ball between coverage on slant routes. Outstanding overall hands. Soft hands on deep in-breaking routes. Strong working back to the ball at the intermediate level with a defender on his back. Quick getting his head around to locate the ball. Smooth and crisp on out routes. Very efficient and crisp on corner routes from the perimeter. Works back to the ball on curls and comebacks. Very quick to throttle down suddenly on back-shoulder passes and shows a strong connection with the quarterback. Fights through contact on vertical stems. Showed an ability to run complex double moves to get vertical. Tremendous ability to high point and get his feet down in back of the end zone. Great ability to lay out for passes working towards the sideline. Outstanding overall catch focus to stick with the ball in the air. Experience both out wide and in the slot. Runs hard with above-average speed in the open field. Used as a running back and on various designed touches. Targeted on perimeter screens. Given the ball on pop passes. Very effective on end arounds in scoring territory. Excellent vision and instincts as a runner. Great vision around the edge. Phenomenal ability to follow his blocks on the perimeter while maintaining speed. Tremendous balance and physicality as a runner. Terrific juke cut. Former high school quarterback and shows impressive ball handling in the backfield on trick plays. Gets after it as a blocker. Accurate and strong blocking inside. Extremely aggressive working inside the box to block from outside alignment.

Weaknesses

Ran a basic route tree for the most part. Not really featured and worked in a heavy rotation at Georgia. Doesn’t have a ton of burst on deeper routes. Speed shows up more as a runner with a head of steam than as a route runner and trying to get vertical. Often seemed to get banged up at the end of runs. Tries to get in front but can be bowled over by bigger defenders as a blocker.

Conclusion

Overall, Bell is a versatile wide receiver who shows he can win underneath and do damage on manufactured touches. He should be an excellent role player for an NFL offense by fitting both on the perimeter and in the slot.
