We’re three months from the heaviest part of fantasy draft season, but the NFL schedule is out—and so are our initial 2026 fantasy football statistical projections. Keep in mind that projections are different than rankings—with rankings being what we strongly recommend following more closely. That said our latest YouTube video dives into the takeaways from the projections.
Jahmyr Gibbs Confirmed at No. 1
Gibbs is No. 1 in our rankings, and he’s cemented in that spot based on the projections. With David Montgomery now in Houston, the Lions playing a last-place schedule, improvements on the offensive line, and a determined Dan Campbell squad set to feed their dynamic runner, Gibbs could have a legendary 2026 campaign. He’s projected for over 400 half PPR fantasy points, which would be a top 10 season all-time.
The Value High-End QB1
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is coming off his worst fantasy season last year. The projections have him bouncing back, as the QB3 behind only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. We’ll see if the new offense under Sean Mannion gets the former Super Bowl MVP going, and perhaps the Brotherly Shove comes back in style with a healthier Cam Jurgens at center.
The Wide Receiver Depth
While it looks like a clear top six at wide receiver in Ja’Marr Chase, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Puka Nacua, CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Justin Jefferson, the depth at the position also stands out. A whopping 21 wide receivers are projected in the 180-220 point range in half PPR scoring. Chances are, you can target the type of player or two you feel good about in that range.
