Top Ten Tuesday: Halloween Movies

Halloween is tomorrow, and the final October Top Ten Tuesday of the year takes a look at the best Halloween movies of all-time. This list tries to stick with the Halloween setting or theme, so some horror classics like The Shining are not included. And like last week’s standalone Halloween television episodes, I went with quotes to prepare people to watch some spooky classics.

10. Casper (1995)

“Marky Mark, he’s not.” – Stretch

9. Donnie Darko (2001)

“Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?”– Frank the Rabbit

8. The Addams Family (1991)

“Are they made from real Girl Scouts?” – Wednesday

7. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

“I’m your boyfriend now, Nancy.” – Freddie Kruger

6. Scream (1996)

“What’s your favorite scary movie?” – Ghostface

5. Beetlejuice (1988)

“It’s showtime.” – Beetlejuice

4. Hocus Pocus (1993)

“Oh, look. Another glorious morning. Makes me sick!” – Minifred Sanderson

3. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)

“Are you sure it’s legal? … I wouldn’t want to be accused of taking part in a rumble.” – Sally Brown on trick or treating

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

“Just because I cannot see it, doesn’t mean I can’t believe it!” – Jack Skellington
