The final cover for NBA 2K21 will feature the late great Kobe Bryant on the “Mamba Forever Edition”. After the tragic deaths of Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others in a helicopter crash earlier this year, the legendary basketball star is being honored with two covers. Both the current gen (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) and next gen (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X) games will have the NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Edition.

Bryant was previously on the cover of NBA 2K10; and, as usual, he’s set to be featured on throwback teams like the popular 2000-2001 Los Angeles Lakers in 2K21.
In the previous two days, the standard edition for current generation (Damian Lillard) and next generation (Zion Williamson) covers were also revealed.
Because of the reverence Kobe holds in the basketball world and amongst fans, expect the Mamba Forever Edition to be the highest-selling version of NBA 2K21 (and perhaps of any NBA 2K game in history) despite its hefty price tag.
The Mamba Forever Edition gets you extra digital content including the “Kobe Bryant Digital Collection”, which has:
-5 MyPLAYER Shoes
-3 MyPLAYER Jerseys
-Black Mamba MyPLAYER Uniform
-Rookie Lakers MyTEAM Jerseys
-Black Mamba custom MyTEAM Jersey
-Sapphire Kobe MyTEAM Card
-5 MyTEAM Shoes
The standard current gen edition of the game costs $59.99, the standard next gen edition of the game costs $69.99, and the Mamba Forever Edition costs $99.99 and will get a free upgrade from current gen to next gen.
NBA 2K21 releases September 4, and pre-orders are live today.
