Strengths
Massive size with great power. Very long and uses length to keep defenders off him. Nimble feet for a bigger guard. Turns defenders to shield off a running lane. Quick reaction time and does a nice job flipping his hips. Exceptional ability to peel back and create a seal for outside runs. Can push opponents out of the play with a quick shove. Stays low in his stance. Creates easy leverage with strength and quickness off the ball in short-yardage situations. Drives back defensive linemen on double teams. High intelligence and vision to find the free defender and hit his spot. Creates a crushing impact in the hole on pulls. Good ability to move from block to block. Wide body to get around in pass protection. Great anchor strength. Excellent awareness dealing with stunts and delayed blitzes. Instantly will help offensive tackles after taking care of his own responsibility as a pass blocker. Smart to avoid going down field on passing plays. Gets in to scrap with the ball-carrier nearby. Was able to move Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter in the running game (2022).
Weaknesses
Could have trouble dealing with quickness/size combination and effective counters. Would like to see him latch on with his hands more. Doesn’t consistently look to overpower or bury opponents. Limited range for mobile blocks. Foundational technique can get lazy when not engaged in pass protection. Struggled with both quickness and strength in separate pass-blocking reps versus Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter (2022).

Conclusion
Overall, Torrence is a big, powerful guard that is tough to get around in pass protection and can help open holes as a run blocker. The best fit for him would be in a power running scheme, but Torrence showed enough functional movement skills to run zone concepts as well.
