Strengths
Monstrous size and height. Phenomenal athleticism for his weight class. Has the upside in his body to be more explosive. Hands are huge and very strong. Gigantic catch radius. Tremendous ability to haul in passes above his head. Will make one-handed grabs look easy. Adjusts for lower passes. Quick eyes to locate the ball. Extremely reliable in contested coverage. Excellent build-up speed. Dangerous weapon down the seam on play-action passes. Will lull opponents with a bunch of blocking and then pop open for a chunk gain. Used on wheel routes and can run past defenders or make a play when covered. Impressive ability to sit and/or throttle down on underneath routes. Outstanding strength and physicality with the ball in his hands. Very good nimbleness for a player his size. Able to brush off contact and keep moving. Experience lining up out wide and in the slot. Elite in-line run blocker. Fundamentally sound with a wide base and great hand placement/extension. Has the size/power to take on edge defenders. Routinely used on down blocks. Effective on cross-formation blocks. Squares off defenders by turning his body and creating a lane. Terrific feel and awareness as a lead blocker. Can overwhelm defensive backs on the perimeter. Accurate and forceful hitting defenders at the second level. Tremendous pass blocker. Tough to get around for pass rushers. Extremely impactful on chips.
Weaknesses
Mostly ran a simplified route tree at Georgia. Average acceleration and a bit lumbering in terms of movement skills as a receiver (particularly before he gets going). Lacks separation burst as a route runner. Could be quicker to defend inside flashes.

Conclusion
Overall, Washington is a monstrous tight end that should be drafted in Round 1 based on the combination of size, athleticism, receiving upside, and blocking dominance. Even if he doesn’t get the ball, Washington should provide a weekly impact for an NFL offense.
