Strengths
Towering and massive offensive tackle. Top-tier length and hand size. Tremendous play strength and power. Very impressive functional athleticism considering weight/size. Movements are not sluggish despite his weight. Reach allows for instant engagement upon extension. Able to power defenders to the ground with pure reach strength. Generates movement with continuous drive/push. Looks to bury defenders when he gets them to the ground. Very good ability to square up and stick with defenders while pushing them back. Quality mobility on interior pulls and working to the second level. Will swallow smaller defenders in space. Tries to stay low and keeps a wide base. Extremely capable mirror skills at his size. Moves his feet and doesn’t get lazy. Great vision and awareness in pass protection. Good quickness out of his stance. Will vary the depth of pass sets depending on the rush angle of opponents. Will quickly chop down the hands of opponents. Very effective striking with hands and resetting to strike again. Size allows him to easily close off inside moves. Aggressive getting in on the action. Hustled to get in position for a potential tackle following an interception on final play of Michigan game despite 22-point deficit (2022).
Weaknesses
Has noticeable balance issues. Will get knocked back and lose coordination when opponents get to his chest. Feet slide out from under him too often. Sometimes reaches rather than moving his feet in pass protection. Will overset as a pass blocker.

Conclusion
Overall, Jones is a huge offensive tackle that should be an absolute wall in pass protection based on his size and functional movement skills. There isn’t concern about weight being a major issue considering Jones’ football character, and teams looking to get bigger and potentially dominant up front should target him in the first round.
