Strengths
Tremendous size and length. Plus combination of speed and athleticism. Very fluid with smooth hips at his size. Stays light and athletic on his feet. Rare quickness for a bigger cornerback. Outstanding overall play recognition. Comfortable with his eyes on the quarterback in Cover-3 drops. Does a very good job flipping his hips to defend vertical routes. Great in press coverage. Hands are disruptive checking receivers early in routes. Will stay close to opponents on underneath routes and use his reach to swat passes away. Has the strength to force opponents into the boundary. Fast coming out of the backpedal to defend out routes. Impressive ball skills and reaction time. Can be used to match up versus tight ends. Has experience at both left and right cornerback. Excellent tackler when able to attack early on the perimeter. Puts himself to make plays versus the run. Former college safety.
Weaknesses
Can get beaten clean by quicker releases. Vulnerable to inside releases and too often finds himself in trail position without inside help (happened twice versus Michigan wide receiver Ronnie Bell in 2022 matchup). Susceptible to vertical route combinations and will have his eyes in the backfield. Should be stronger as a tackler considering his size. Often off the field for a few snaps at a time. Played just two games in 2021 due to a torn ACL and six games in 2020 due to COVID-shortened season.

Conclusion
Overall, Trice is a long corner with big-time upside as a Cover-3 playmaker with just one full season of starting experience at the position. The size, athleticism, and natural feel in coverage should get him drafted on Day 2.
