We already knew that the Detroit Lions would be featured on this summer’s Hard Knocks on HBO. But the NFL and HBO are also bringing fans another year of Hard Knocks In Season after a successful debut with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. The Arizona Cardinals, in their fourth season under head coach Kliff Kingsbury, will be on HBO starting this November.

The press announcement reads in part:
HARD KNOCKS IN SEASON debuted last fall with the engaging and eventful drama of the Indianapolis Colts’ 2021 regular season journey.
“Last season Hard Knocks made an unprecedented leap, documenting an NFL regular season in real time for the first time ever with the Indianapolis Colts,” said Keith Cossrow, NFL Films Vice President and Senior Coordinating Producer. “It was a vivid and illuminating look at the life of an NFL team. This season, we are eager to build on that success and go even further with one of the most exciting teams in the NFL. We can’t wait to get to work in Arizona, and we thank Michael Bidwill, Steve Keim, Coach Kingsbury and the entire Cardinals organization for this opportunity.”

Last year, when the Colts were featured in season, the debut episode caught us up from the first half of the season before going week-to-week similar to the long-running training camp edition of Hard Knocks. It provided for very entertaining television, and the NFL and HBO felt good about doing it again.
Hard Knocks In Season is similar to Amazon’s All or Nothing, which ran for five seasons starting in 2015 with the Cardinals and received great reviews. The access given is rare, and it makes it a fantastic watch for hardcore NFL fans.
The Cardinals have a star-studded roster that includes former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray, future Hall of Fame defensive end J.J. Watt, safety Budda Baker, linebacker Isaiah Simmons, and new acquisition in wide receiver Marquise Brown. Also, former All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season due to PED use, so we’ll get an interesting look at how he’s reacclimatized when he returns for Arizona.
