Aw, heck!
FX’s hit series Fargo has one of their stars for Season 4.
According to Variety (and tweeted by the show’s official Twitter account), Comedian Chris Rock will have a lead role in Fargo’s fourth season, which will begin production in 2019 and is also expected to air next year. Variety said this about the new season and Rock’s character:
Described as a story of “immigration and assimilation and the things we do for money,” season 4 of “Fargo” is set in 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri, where two criminal syndicates — one Italian, one African-American — have struck an uneasy peace. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons. Rock will play the head of one of the syndicates, who has surrendered his son to his enemy, and who must raise his son’s enemy as his own. But then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies — and everything changes.
One of the top comedians of all-time, Rock is also known for roles on the big screen, including The Longest Yard, Grown Ups, and Top Five. While a critically-acclaimed television drama on a premium network will be new territory for him as an actor, Rock should be able to easily pull off the dark humor in Noah Hawley’s series.
We will have to wait for the show to return to see what kind of connection the 1950 story will have, if any, with Season 1 (set in 2006), Season 2 (set in 1979), and Season 3 (set in 2010), but it will be interesting to see how the cast fills out—particularly if a big-time actor is cast as the new head of the Italian mafia and a potential adversary/co-lead with Rock.

Wow pleasant surprise
