He had two receptions for 83 yards. Robinson knows Kyle Shanahan’s offense and should be a contributor this season for the Niners, though he probably won’t have much fantasy value.

Nathan Peterman will play with the second-team in Thursday’s preseason game.
The Bills rookie quarterback really impressed in the opening preseason game against the Vikings last week, and he’s been elevated to the backup quarterback job. Look for him to get a good amount of playing time on Thursday against the Eagles. If Buffalo’s season goes south, don’t be surprised if the fifth-round pick Peterman—who was seen a a pro-ready quarterback—makes some starts for the team this season.

Kendrick Bourne leads 49ers in receiving in Week 1 of the preseason.
The undrafted rookie receiver had four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a 46-yarder where he broke free in the secondary and fellow rookie C.J. Beathard found him down the field. Bourne is attempting to crack the Niners’ final roster, so this was definitely a good start for him.

Harold Henderson will hear Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell makes these decisions. Henderson heard Greg Hardy’s 2015 suspension appeal, which reduced Hardy’s suspension from ten games to four games—and outraged many people. Henderson’s reasoning for the reduction of Hardy’s suspension was because ten games was unprecedented for a normal “baseline” of six-games. But he fully upheld Adrian Peterson’s 2014 suspension, so there’s no way of really predicting what way this might go. The hearing is on August 29, but a decision might not come before the regular season (Henderson took over a month to make a determination on Hardy’s appeal in 2015). This situation is very much up in the air.

Ryan Fitzpatrick struggles in preseason opener.
Fitzpatrick was just 6/13 for 45 and an interception, but he did rush for a touchdown in the red zone. The 34-year-old needs to be better as a passer next week if he wants to hold of Ryan Griffin for the backup quarterback job in Tampa Bay. He’ll get the Jaguars next.

Bills rookie receiver Zay Jones will work “primarily” on the outside.
Head coach Sean McDermott said “He’ll work inside as well at this point. But primarily you’ll see him outside.” Jones is a versatile guy that can play both inside and outside, but he’ll be mostly on the outside as the current receiver group for the Bills includes Jordan Matthews and Anquan Boldin—both have been primary slot receivers recently. It sounds like Jones, Matthews, and Boldin will be the top three receivers for Buffalo.

Winston plays well in preseason debut.
Jameis saw quite a bit of action, going 9/13 for 99 yards, zero touchdown, and no turnovers. He surprisingly led the Bucs in pass attempts, and looked for Mike Evans often, as the two connected for 58 yards on four receptions. We will see what the coaching staff thought about Winston and and team’s performance on ‘Hard Knocks’ next week. Tampa Bay plays a stingy Jaguars defense next.
