Darlington adds Cutler is thinking about coming back because the Dolphins are “literally” the only situation he thought he might come back for. While he says Cutler is leaning toward staying retired, Darlington notes the quarterback isn’t 100% sure and that Gase can be “one convincing dude.” Cutler does have a great job right now as part of FOX’s number two broadcast team next to Kevin Burkhardt, which certainly could complicate things if there’s no guarantee he gets the job after this season if he decides to return to the field. We should get more clarity on this within the next several days.

Alshon Jeffery isn’t practicing for the second straight day.
He’s dealing with a shoulder injury, but the Eagles don’t sound too concerned. Eagles head coach Doug Peterson implied yesterday he was just giving Jeffery a day off as the team had a padded practice with full hitting. The big free agent acquisition is expected to be the team’s number one receiver, and getting reps with quarterback Carson Wentz is important.

The Ravens announced they have signed former Clemson quarterback David Olson.
Draft Diamonds reported this move last night. Olson was playing for the Kansas City Phantoms of the Champions Indoor League, and he’ll get a chance in an NFL training camp. Olson went to both Stanford and Clemson, but unfortunately he was stuck behind Andrew Luck at Stanford and didn’t get much time (just a few passes) as a graduate player at Clemson. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had some inside information from his brother Jim, who coached Olson at Stanford. It’s awesome to see Olson work hard and not quit, and now he’s getting an opportunity to potentially take snaps in an NFL preseason game and maybe make an NFL roster.

Kenny Stills has a tight hamstring.
Stills left practice early yesterday, but it’s just a hamstring issue. The Dolphins likely won’t rush him back until he feels 100%, given the injury woes they’ve had over the last few days.

C.J. Anderson says he’s “definitely in the best shape [he’s] been in a very long time.”
Andrew Mason of DenverBroncos.com writes Anderson had an “outstanding day” at training camp yesterday. Second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch says he’s been relying on Anderson to help him understand the offense because Anderson has played for offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and is “basically another quarterback out there on the field.” Anderson is a hard worker that’s been cutting weight to be in great shape, and the 26-year-old averages 4.6 yards per carry in his career. He’s currently going around Round 4-Round 7 in fantasy drafts.

Multiple reports: Sterling Shepard getting carted off at Giants practice.
The second-year receiver reportedly injured his right leg and was “in serious pain” and “apparently in tears,” according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. It’s too early too say anything for sure, but obviously this looks like it could be a very serious injury to Shepard. It’d be a big blow to the Giants’ offense, and we’ll let you know when more information becomes available.

The Falcons think Tevin Coleman will have a breakout season.
Head coach Dan Quinn talked about the third-year back’s great ability as a receiver and as someone that can create mismatches against linebackers and safeties because of his speed. Quinn said they feel players can usually make a jump in their second year in the league, but added, “we also feel like guys from Year 2 to Year 3 make a significant jump and I do feel like Tevin is going to be one of those players that is going to make that jump.” Coleman was already 20th in fantasy points for running backs last season on only 149 touches—a testament to his big-play ability. He averaged 13.6 yards per reception last season, which is the most in the last 15 years by a running back, so Coleman obviously has some special skills. If Quinn feels Coleman is ready to make a significant jump this season, it could mean he gets more than his 149 touches last season. In an elite offense, Coleman is an enticing option in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts, even with the presence of Devonta Freeman.
