2020 Fantasy Football Mock Draft 4.0 (12-team QB Premium, Non-PPR)

This week’s fantasy football mock draft using the FantasyPros draft simulator is for a 12-team, non-PPR league with six points per passing touchdown. [Note: the article title is “QB Premium” for logistic purposes because six points per passing touchdown is too long for the title; there is only one starting quarterback per team]

Mock 1.0: 12-team, 0.5 PPR

Mock 2.0: 14-team Superflex, 0.5 PPR

Mock 3.0: 10-team, Full PPR

Round 1

1.01: Christian McCaffrey, CAR RB
1.02: Saquon Barkley, NYG RB
1.03: Ezekiel Elliott, DAL RB
1.04: Derrick Henry, TEN RB
1.05: Alvin Kamara, NO RB
1.06: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, KC RB
1.07: Michael Thomas, NO WR
1.08: Dalvin Cook, MIN RB
1.09: Leonard Fournette, JAX RB
1.10: Tyreek Hill, KC WR
1.11: Nick Chubb, CLE RB
1.12: Josh Jacobs, LV RB

Thoughts: Henry’s pure rushing upside makes him a clear top-five selection in non-PPR leagues, so I’ll take him at No. 4 as the foundation of my team. Just as a note, seeing Fournette go in the first round is a shock, and you shouldn’t dramatically change rankings if you’re playing in a standard-scoring league for the first time.

Round 2

2.01: Joe Mixon, CIN RB
2.02: Davante Adams, GB WR
2.03: Kenyan Drake, ARI RB
2.04: Todd Gurley, ATL RB
2.05: Miles Sanders, PHI RB
2.06: DeAndre Hopkins, ARI WR
2.07: Jonathan Taylor, IND RB
2.08: Aaron Jones, GB RB
2.09: Patrick Mahomes, KC QB
2.10: Julio Jones, ATL WR
2.11: Austin Ekeler, LAC RB
2.12: James Conner, PIT RB

Thoughts: Julio Jones surprisingly being on the board gave me something to think about, but with six points per passing touchdown, I had my sights set on Mahomes and his monster touchdown ceiling to pair with Henry.

Round 3

3.01: Travis Kelce, KC TE
3.02: Chris Godwin, TB WR
3.03: Mike Evans, TB WR
3.04: Chris Carson, SEA RB
3.05: George Kittle, SF TE
3.06: A.J. Brown, TEN WR
3.07: Kenny Golladay, DET WR
3.08: JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT WR
3.09: Allen Robinson, CHI WR
3.10: Lamar Jackson, BAL QB
3.11: Mark Andrews, BAL TE
3.12: D.J. Moore, CAR WR

Thoughts: Carson has rushed for 1,150+ yards and scored nine total touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, so I’m comfortable with him here based on how running backs have come off the board; George Kittle and the next four wideouts were all considerations.

Round 4

4.01: Cam Akers, LAR RB
4.02: Adam Thielen, MIN WR
4.03: Odell Beckham Jr., CLE WR
4.04: Melvin Gordon, DEN RB
4.05: Amari Cooper, DAL WR
4.06: David Johnson, HOU RB
4.07: Tyler Lockett, SEA WR
4.08: Le’Veon Bell, NYJ RB
4.09: Calvin Ridley, ATL WR
4.10: Courtland Sutton, DEN WR
4.11: D’Andre Swift, DET RB
4.12: Mark Ingram, BAL RB

Thoughts: It sounds like Ridley is ready to take a step up in 2020, and he had a narrow edge over D.K. Metcalf or one of the Rams wideouts for me.

Round 5

5.01: D.K. Metcalf, SEA WR
5.02: Deshaun Watson, HOU QB
5.03: Devin Singletary, BUF RB
5.04: Cooper Kupp, LAR WR
5.05: Robert Woods, LAR WR
5.06: Terry McLaurin, WAS WR
5.07: Zach Ertz, PHI TE
5.08: David Montgomery, CHI RB
5.09: Dak Prescott, DAL QB
5.10: Raheem Mostert, SF RB
5.11: Ronald Jones II, TB RB
5.12: Darren Waller, LV TE

Thoughts: Wideouts have been undervalued too much for this mock in my opinion, and I’m able to get another upside WR2 with WR1 potential; the edge went to Kupp over teammate Robert Woods because the ceiling might be a little higher.

Round 6

6.01: D.J. Chark, JAX WR
6.02: Derrius Guice, WAS RB
6.03: Keenan Allen, LAC WR
6.04: Jarvis Landry, CLE WR
6.05: Evan Engram, NYG TE
6.06: Kerryon Johnson, DET RB
6.07: Russell Wilson, SEA QB
6.08: Kyler Murray, ARI QB
6.09: A.J. Green, CIN WR
6.10: Tyler Higbee, LAR TE
6.11: T.Y. Hilton, IND WR
6.12: Will Fuller, HOU WR

Thoughts: A core of three running backs is often the preference in standard leagues, but Green can be an excellent starter at the FLEX, and the roster has two matchup-proof options to start every week in my RB slots.

Round 7

7.01: Josh Allen, BUF QB
7.02: Kareem Hunt, CLE RB
7.03: Darrell Henderson, LAR RB
7.04: Jordan Howard, MIA RB
7.05: DeVante Parker, MIA WR
7.06: Marquise Brown, BAL WR
7.07: Tom Brady, TB QB
7.08: Matt Ryan, ATL QB
7.09: Stefon Diggs, BUF WR
7.10: Tevin Coleman, SF RB
7.11: Drew Brees, NO QB
7.12: Carson Wentz, PHI QB

Thoughts: My target was either Howard or Sony Michel, so I’m happy to get Miami’s new starter to join Henry and Carson as a runner with double-digit touchdown potential.

Round 8

8.01: Michael Gallup, DAL WR
8.02: Julian Edelman, NE WR
8.03: Sony Michel, NE RB
8.04: Tyler Boyd, CIN WR
8.05: Henry Ruggs III, LV WR
8.06: Ke’Shawn Vaughn, TB RB
8.07: J.K. Dobbins, BAL RB
8.08: Deebo Samuel, SF WR
8.09: Brandin Cooks, HOU WR
8.10: Tarik Cohen, CHI RB
8.11: Marvin Jones, DET WR
8.12: Darius Slayton, NYG WR

Thoughts: Cooks could be Houston’s No. 1 receiver this season, and I’ll take him to join what looks like a very strong group of receivers despite my early picks at running back and quarterback.

Round 9

9.01: John Brown, BUF WR
9.02: Jamison Crowder, NYJ WR
9.03: Sterling Shepard, NYG WR
9.04: Marlon Mack, IND RB
9.05: Diontae Johnson, PIT WR
9.06: Latavius Murray, NO RB
9.07: Phillip Lindsay, DEN RB
9.08: Christian Kirk, ARI WR
9.09: Matt Breida, SF RB
9.10: Justin Jefferson, MIN WR
9.11: James White, NE RB
9.12: Mike Williams, LAC WR

Thoughts: Tight end was an option, but there are several options still available, and I couldn’t afford to pass on Mack since the other two backs with a solid role (Matt Breida and James White) are unlikely to be there in Round 10 following the long wait.

Round 10

10.01: Zack Moss, BUF RB
10.02: Emmanuel Sanders, NO WR
10.03: DeSean Jackson, PHI WR
10.04: Curtis Samuel, CAR WR
10.05: Boston Scott, PHI RB
10.06: Alexander Mattison, MIN RB
10.07: CeeDee Lamb, DAL WR
10.08: Anthony McFarland Jr., PIT RB
10.09: Mecole Hardman, KC WR
10.10: Tony Pollard, DAL RB
10.11: Golden Tate, NYG WR
10.12: Chase Edmonds, ARI RB

Thoughts: Tight end is somehow in the same spot it was last round, so with a short wait before my next pick, I can take Hardman’s upside to pair with Mahomes and hope there isn’t some crazy run at the position.

Round 11

11.01: Breshad Perriman, NYJ WR
11.02: Preston Williams, MIA WR
11.03: Robby Anderson, CAR WR
11.04: Rob Gronkowski, TB TE
11.05: Steelers, PIT D/ST
11.06: Anthony Miller, CHI WR
11.07: Jerry Jeudy, DEN WR
11.08: Jalen Reagor, PHI WR
11.09: Jared Cook, NO TE
11.10: Hunter Henry, LAC TE
11.11: 49ers, SF D/ST
11.12: N’Keal Harry, NE WR

Thoughts: Gronk could have easily been the pick two rounds ago, and he fills out my starting lineup with even more upside—particularly when it comes to finding the end zone.

Round 12

12.01: Aaron Rodgers, GB QB
12.02: Duke Johnson, HOU RB
12.03: A.J. Dillon, GB RB
12.04: Dallas Goedert, PHI TE
12.05: Matthew Stafford, DET TE
12.06: Nyheim Hines, IND RB
12.07: Hayden Hurst, ATL TE
12.08: Michael Pittman Jr., IND WR
12.09: Carlos Hyde, SEA RB
12.10: Mike Gesicki, MIA TE
12.11: Darrynton Evans, TEN RB
12.12: Ben Roethlisberger, PIT QB

Thoughts: Chris Carson (hip) is fully expected to be ready for Week 1, but Hyde is a very reasonable insurance policy that will be worth rostering throughout the year for the run-heavy Seahawks.

Round 13

13.01: Justin Jackson, LAC RB
13.02: Noah Fant, DEN TE
13.03: Daniel Jones, NYG QB
13.04: DeAndre Washington, KC RB
13.05: Joshua Kelley, LAC RB
13.06: Blake Jarwin, DAL TE
13.07: Ryan Tannehill, TEN QB
13.08: Jamaal Williams, GB RB
13.09: Peyton Barber, WAS RB
13.10: Austin Hooper, CLE TE
13.11: Cam Newton, NE QB
13.12: Damien Harris, NE RB

Thoughts: If Washington gets more work than expected for the Chiefs, I will have a cheap stack of the league’s most explosive offense with he and Hardman both drafted in the double-digit rounds.

Round 14

14.01: Jerick McKinnon, SF RB
14.02: Antonio Gibson, WAS RB
14.03: Adrian Peterson, WAS RB
14.04: Justice Hill, BAL RB
14.05: Malcolm Brown, LAR
14.06: T.J. Hockenson, DET TE
14.07: Rashaad Penny, SEA RB
14.08: Ryquell Armstead, JAX RB
14.09: Jimmy Garoppolo, SF QB
14.10: LeSean McCoy, TB RB
14.11: Gus Edwards, BAL RB
14.12: Royce Freeman, DEN RB

Thoughts: Remember, this is a six-point-per-passing-touchdown league, and Garoppolo can easily throw for 30+ scores with a favorable schedule in his second full year under Kyle Shanahan. With Mahomes rostered, he’s ideal trade bait.

Round 15

15.01: Ravens, BAL D/ST
15.02: Bills, BUF D/ST
15.03: Patriots, NE D/ST
15.04: Bears, CHI D/ST
15.05: Baker Mayfield, CLE QB
15.06: Saints, NO D/ST
15.07: Colts, IND D/ST
15.08: Rams, LAR D/ST
15.09: Jaguars, JAX D/ST
15.10: Harrison Butker, KC K
15.11: Allen Lazard, GB WR
15.12: Vikings, MIN D/ST

Round 16

16.01: Justin Tucker, BAL K
16.02: Wil Lutz, NO K
16.03: Chiefs, KC D/ST
16.04 Greg Zuerlein, DAL K
16.05: Robbie Gould, SF K
16.06: Matt Prater, DET K
16.07: Dan Bailey, MIN K
16.08: Chris Boswell, PIT K
16.09: Matt Gay, TB K
16.10: Zane Gonzalez, ARI K
16.11: Ka’imi Fairbairn, HOU K
16.12: Jake Elliott, PHI K

Final Roster
