Fantasy Football Stock Report: Week 7, 2017

STOCK RISING: Brett Hundley, Packers QB

Hundley was probably owned in 0% of fantasy leagues until this week, so his stock is obviously going up. The Packers’ new starting quarterback could turn into a nice streaming option in the right matchups, as he has a great group of receivers to throw to, and he can make some plays with his legs.

 

STOCK FALLING: Jameis Winston, Buccaneers QB

An injured shoulder forced Jameis to miss most of Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals, and he could be in danger of missing more time. Even if he plays on Sunday against the Bills, Winston is not going to be his usual self—which has been a bit a disappointment to begin with.

 

STOCK RISING: Adrian Peterson, Cardinals RB

Peterson was here last week, but his debut with the Cardinals exceeded even the most optimistic of expectations. It was only one game, but AD looks like he’s still got it and will get heavy workloads with Arizona.

 

STOCK FALLING: Mike Gillislee, Patriots RB

He’s actually been more efficient over the past three games, but Mike Gillislee isn’t producing like fantasy owners would like with a decrease in carries and zero touchdowns since Week 2. I would downgrade him to weak, touchdown-dependent FLEX territory, but that just means he’ll probably score three times against Atlanta.

 

STOCK RISING: Mark Ingram, Saints RB

The guy who didn’t get much attention after the Adrian Peterson trade was Mark Ingram, but everyone is paying attention to him now. People got excited about Alvin Kamara, but Ingram has been underrated in recent years, and he looks like a solid RB1/RB2 after his 30-touch, two-touchdown Week 6.

 

STOCK FALLING: C.J. Anderson, Broncos RB

Anderson’s production has been very difficult to predict, and he’s become a risky, low-end RB2/FLEX with Devontae Booker healthy, as Booker will get the passing-game work, and Jamaal Charles will continue to get carries, too. Also, the Denver offense in general has taken a step back.

 

STOCK RISING: Nelson Agholor, Eagles WR

I had Agholor here last week and said when the matchup is right, he’s worth a spot in your lineup, but I was wrong, as the opponent might not even matter. He had another big game last Thursday night, and it looks like the former first-round pick can be used as a weekly FLEX option that’s only getting better.

 

STOCK FALLING: Jordy Nelson, Packers WR

Losing an all-time great player hurts everyone, but perhaps no one more so than Jordy Nelson, as Nelson and Aaron Rodgers have terrific chemistry that simply won’t be replicated with Brett Hundley. Nelson is still a stud, but he’s a WR1/WR2 now.

 

STOCK RISING: Josh Doctson, Redskins WR

Josh Doctson only has four catches this year, but with two of them being scores, he’s arguably been more impressive than Jamison Crowder and Terrelle Pryor have been all year. The second-year receiver should get more playing time soon, and his dynasty stock is pointing up after Sunday’s contested touchdown catch that should give Kirk Cousins more confidence in him.

 

STOCK FALLING: Torrey Smith, Eagles WR

Not many people own Smith is fantasy leagues, but he’s worth noting anyway. The deep threat was held to six yards against Carolina, and he lost some snaps to Mack Hollins on the outside and was even replaced by Nelson Agholor in two-WR sets towards the end of the Week 6 win.

 

STOCK RISING: Hunter Henry, Chargers TE

As noted in our Week 7 rankings, Henry has at least 80 yards or a touchdown in every game he’s been targeted this season. Los Angeles finally realized they need to make one of their top weapons a weekly contributor, which is great news for fantasy owners.

 

STOCK FALLING: Jack Doyle, Colts TE

Doyle is really missing Andrew Luck, as he just doesn’t look like the same player without him. It’s anyone’s guess as to when Luck will return, so Doyle is well off the TE1 radar and is probably safe to drop in all leagues.
