Week 10 Fantasy Football Awards 2021

Team of the Week

QB: Patrick Mahomes, KC

Mahomes finally broke out with a monster, five-touchdown performance on Sunday night, as Las Vegas had no answers for how to stop Kansas City’s offense. Huge numbers will be put up anytime opponents don’t stop Tyreek Hill (7/83/2) and Travis Kelce (8/119), so Mahomes should be back in the high-end QB1 ranks heading into a three-game homestand.

RB: AJ Dillon, GB

A knee injury to Aaron Jones led to Dillon being featured in the second half—and he was basically the only offense in the Packers-Seahawks game with 128 total yards and two touchdowns on 23 touches. The big runner was already a weekly low-end RB2/FLEX option, but he’ll be in the RB1 ranks for however long Jones is out.

RB: Rhamondre Stevenson, NE

Stevenson also took advantage of an expanded opportunity on Sunday—rushing 20 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns (plus four receptions for 14 yards) in place of Damien Harris (concussion) as the starter. The rookie has turned 36 touches into 220 yards and two touchdowns over the past two weeks.

WR: Stefon Diggs, BUF

You knew a big game had to come soon for Diggs, and it did in Week 10 with the Jets being unable to contain him in Buffalo’s 45-17 victory. On 13 targets, the All-Pro wideout caught eight passes for 162 yards and a score—which was his third in the past four games.

WR: CeeDee Lamb, DAL

Lamb was also bound for a breakout after being quiet last week, and the Falcons didn’t do a good job stopping him with a 6/94/2 line on just seven targets. Excluding the throw-out-the-tape game versus Denver, Lamb has gone for lines of 4/84/1, 9/149/2, 6/112, and yesterday’s 6/94/2 since Week 5.

TE: Hunter Henry, NE

The touchdowns kept coming for Henry in New England’s Week 10 victory—as he caught four passes (on four targets) for 37 yards, including his sixth and seventh scores on the year. Mac Jones’ trust in his tight end will keep him on the TE1 map despite a modest 4.2 targets per game.

FLEX: Darrel Williams, KC

The play of Williams was a significant factor in the Chiefs finally breaking through on offense—particularly as a receiver by hauling in all nine of his targets for 101 yards and a highlight touchdown grab over Jonathan Abram. Williams also ran tough with 11 carries for 43 yards, and the physicality with the ball in his hands has been a definite boost for Kansas City.

D/ST: Cowboys

Dallas definitely didn’t come out flat in Week 10, and the Falcons were destroyed on both sides of the ball. Defensively, the Cowboys limited Matt Ryan to nine-of-21 passing for 117 yards and two interceptions on their way to 22.0 fantasy points.

K: Zane Gonzalez

Gonzalez started hot on Sunday with makes of 44, 48, and 49 in the first half, and he eventually finished with four field goals to lead all kickers with 17.0 fantasy points in Week 10.

Surprise of the Week: Top-scoring RBs

All three of Dillon (RB1), Stevenson (RB2), and Williams (RB3) made the Team of the Week, and it’s rare that players who aren’t usual starters pace the running back position. Overall, it shows how important the position is, and hitting on the right players is key.

Disappointment of the Week: Seahawks offense

“Various” could have easily been an option again like in Week 9, but we’ll instead pinpoint it to Seattle’s offense in Russell Wilson’s return. The shutout loss to Green Bay led to disappointing numbers for Wilson (5.64 fantasy points), Alex Collins (5.4), D.K. Metcalf (4.1), and Tyler Lockett (3.3). They’ll need to flip the switch next week against the Cardinals.

Rookie of the Week: Rhamondre Stevenson

He didn’t even practice during the week because of a concussion, but Stevenson rumbled through the Cleveland defense for his first career 100-yard game, and the rookie’s role should remain expanded even when Damien Harris is back in the lineup. Look for Stevenson to remain a strong play whether or not Harris plays on Thursday night.

Week 10 MVP: Patrick Mahomes

Similar to last week, there didn’t seem to be a ton of huge fantasy performances on Sunday, so Mahomes easily takes home MVP honors with 36.24 fantasy points—nearly ten points more than Dak Prescott (26.34) in second place. Tossing a handful of touchdowns after two in the previous three games boosts Mahomes back up to 25 scores on the season.
