Wolf Sports’ 2023 NFL season player projections are now complete and can be viewed by Fantasy Consigliere members. There are still veteran players available in free agency, moves that will be made, and developments to track throughout the summer; but for the most part the final projections will look much like they do now.
The top projected players at each position (half PPR) are:
QB: Josh Allen (406.04 points)
RB: Christian McCaffrey (314.2 points)
WR: Justin Jefferson (320.9 points)
TE: Travis Kelce: (225.9 points)
A few takeaways after running the numbers:
- Elite quarterbacks were huge in many traditional season-long fantasy leagues in 2022, and they are expected to go higher in drafts this year. Behind Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson were grouped very close together for the most projected points, with Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, and Justin Fields coming in just behind them.
- Several situations where there will be competition at a position could lead to strong performance from a team in real-life but inconsistency from a fantasy perspective. For example, Eagles RBs, Ravens WRs, Broncos WRs, and Chiefs WRs are among the groups that are most unclear and interesting.
- If healthy, Darren Waller might be the No. 1 target for the Giants.
- If utilized, Jahan Dotson is in position to have a breakout second NFL season despite maybe not getting the recognition of other second-year receivers.
Season projections remain on individual player pages, but we are looking to create a section with sortable projections where users can sort by team, position, and statistical category while also toggling half PPR, full PPR, or non-PPR scoring.
Also, Wolf Sports Analytics for over 300 players now reflect the biggest update of the year but will continue to be tweaked. Additionally, we plan to implement a new analytics player comparison tool this summer.
