2025 Fantasy Football Draft Guide Preview: Quarterback

On August 1, our fantasy football draft guide will be released both as a physical book (available on Amazon) and as a free PDF to Fantasy Consigliere members. This week, we’re giving a preview at each position before the guide is released next month.

10. Jared Goff, DET

2024 statistics: 72.4%, 4,629 YDS, 37 TD, 12 INT | 35 ATT, 56 YDS

2025 projections: 70.4%, 4,598 YDS, 36 TD, 11 INT | 33 ATT, 52 YDS, 1 TD

Goff is another quarterback who saw his offensive coordinator depart this offseason with Ben Johnson taking the Bears job—but Dan Campbell hasn’t been given enough credit for his imprint on the attack, nor has Goff himself for being a top-tier NFL passer. Detroit having Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams (set for another leap following his first 1,000-yard season), Sam LaPorta, and Jahmyr Gibbs as central components through the air will only ease the transition for Goff, and it’s notable that new play-caller and coordinator John Morton has familiarity with the offense—which he’s suggested will be tweaked based on the established philosophy—after being with the Lions as a senior offensive assistant in 2022. The one negative to point out for Goff is the increase in outdoor games with six of them on the schedule, but they all come before Thanksgiving, so it’ll be smooth sailing down the stretch and when it matters most from Week 12 to Week 17. For anyone mixing and matching at quarterback, you should also keep in mind that Goff gets a great draw versus an unproven Green Bay cornerback group to begin the year.
