Bell didn’t record a touch last week, so it’s no surprise that he’s being waived in correspondence with Leonard Fournette’s activation. The former All-Pro could end up re-signing with the practice squad as backfield insurance.
Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is being activated from injured reserve.
Tampa Bay will get some needed reinforcements on offense with Fournette back against the Rams, and he should have a substantial role as a runner and receiver. We’d expect the Bucs will mostly lean on a two-man backfield of Fournette and Giovani Bernard in the Divisional Round.
Breshad Perriman (hip/abdomen) is out for Sunday.
Perriman won’t play, so Tom Brady will be relying on Tyler Johnson, Scotty Miller, and potentially rookie Jaelon Darden behind Mike Evans if Cyril Grayson Jr. (hamstring) is also inactive. Look for the offense to mostly run through Leonard Fournette (if activated from injured reserve), Evans, and Rob Gronkowski for the most part against the Rams this weekend.
Ronald Jones II (ankle) ruled out for the Divisional Round.
Jones will miss the second postseason game in a row, but the good news for Tampa Bay is that Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is expected back. Based on his lack of practice over the past two weeks, Jones would appear to be on the wrong side of questionable for a possible NFC Championship Game next Sunday.
The Titans are activating Derrick Henry (foot) from injured reserve.
This was the expectation since Henry was designated to return to close out the regular season, and the Titans will have their monster runner back ahead of tomorrow’s Divisional Round matchup versus Cincinnati. Henry will likely have a limited workload in his return to the field, but he can still go off on limited touches and will obviously change the way the Bengals have to defend the Tennessee offense.
