Kyle Sloter | Vikings QB

The Vikings are signing Kyle Sloter, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Backup quarterback Sean Mannion was recently added to the reserve/COVID-19 list, so Minnesota is wisely getting ahead of things by adding another quarterback. Kirk Cousins is notably unvaccinated, and his addition to the list could realistically knock him out for the final two games of the regular season if changes aren’t made in terms of NFL protocols.

Carson Wentz | Free Agent QB

Carson Wentz has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Wentz is one of the most notable unvaccinated players in the league, so he’s out for ten days as Indy heads into a big matchup versus the Raiders this weekend. Fortunately, Wentz should be able to get cleared by Week 18, but the Colts will have to rely on rookie Sam Ehlinger against Las Vegas, though we can surely expect a heavy dose of Jonathan Taylor once again.

Darrell Henderson | Free Agent RB

The Rams are placing Darrell Henderson Jr. (knee) on injured reserve.

Henderson is dealing with an MCL sprain, and this move to injured reserve ends his regular season and might also keep him out for the postseason. The third-year back started off well this season while operating as the lead back for the Rams offense, but he again dealt with injuries and eventually Sony Michel overtook the lead role in Sean McVay’s offense. Overall, Henderson carries 149 times for 688 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns along with 29 receptions for 176 receiving yards and three receiving yards in 12 games. Now Henderson will look to get into a spot where he can return for the playoffs. He’ll be eligible to come off injured reserve for the Rams’ second playoff game if they make it that far.

Jimmy Garoppolo | Rams QB

Jimmy Garoppolo is dealing with a torn ligament and fracture in his right thumb.

It’s a torn UCL and a chipped bone in the right thumb. This obviously will not be easy to play through, but expect Garoppolo to do everything he can to play for the playoff-competing 49ers. Jimmy G’s status will be one of the biggest things to watch leading up to Week 16.

Austin Ekeler | Commanders RB

Austin Ekeler has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Ekeler was unable to get cleared in time for yesterday’s game against the Texans, but he’ll return for the Chargers this week. Look for the dynamic running back to be recharged and on his game in Week 16.
