Week 14 Fantasy Football Awards 2024

Team of the Week

QB: Josh Allen, BUF

Allen was a complete monster in a 44-42 loss to the Rams this week—completing 22-of-37 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns while adding another 82 yards and three scores on 10 carries. The performance was the first time in NFL history a player had three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns in a single game, and Allen bolstered his NFL MVP case by putting the Bills (and fantasy teams) on his back.

RB: Zach Charbonnet, SEA

The talent of Charbonnet should have never been in question based on what he’s shown dating back to his time at UCLA, and Week 14 provided his biggest showcase yet—turning 29 touches into 193 total yards and two touchdowns. A lot of analysts weren’t high on Charbonnet in place of Kenneth Walker III (calf), but his 34.8 fantasy points may have slanted matchups for those who started him.

RB: Isaac Guerendo, SF

Guerendo is another young NFC West runner that came through with an opportunity to start, and he rushed 15 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns—and brought in both of his targets for 50 yards through the air. The rookie unfortunately sustained a foot injury that puts the rest of his season in jeopardy, but you can’t really complain about him going for 25.8 fantasy points when a big performance was needed by many to get into the fantasy playoffs.

WR: Puka Nacua, LAR

Nacua was fully featured in a massive game for the Rams yesterday, and he responded by catching 12-of-14 targets for 162 yards and a touchdown while also rushing five times for 16 yards and another score. Look for Nacua to be fed down the stretch starting on Thursday night against the 49ers.

WR: Jordan Addison, MIN

Sam Darnold exploding with a five-touchdown game was lost because of what Josh Allen did later in the day, but Addison was on the receiving end for much of the damage in Minnesota—going for an 8/133/3 line on 12 targets. The monster outing suddenly has Addison as a comfortable WR2 through 14 weeks, and he’ll try to stay hot versus a Chicago defense he had 26.2 fantasy points against last month.

TE: George Kittle, SF

Speaking of the Bears, they had no answers for Kittle in a 38-13 loss, and the superstar tight end caught all six of his targets for 151 yards—with almost all of the damage coming on the first half. It was obviously a strong bounce back after just one catch in Week 13, but Kittle has largely been excellent this season.

FLEX: Justin Jefferson, MIN

The two touchdowns for Sam Darnold that didn’t go to Jordan Addison went to Jefferson—who caught seven-of-seven targets for 132 yards and the scores to snap his touchdown drought at six games. Jefferson was held to two receptions for 27 yards against Chicago in the first meeting, but we’d bet on the Vikings getting a much bigger game out of him in the rematch next Monday night.

D/ST: San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco was suffocating versus Caleb Williams yesterday, as they sacked him seven times and limited the Bears to 162 total yards in a complete team performance. The schedule in the fantasy playoffs will be more of a challenge (v LAR, @ MIA, v DET), but the Niners will attempt to keep it going on a short week.

K: Matthew Wright, KC

Kansas City needed to settle for four field goals last night, and Wright—their third kicker this season—came through by hitting them all (plus a PAT) on his way to 16.0 fantasy points. Of course, fantasy owners and the Chiefs held their breath as the game-winner hit the upright, but the short kick unsurprisingly went through as Kansas City found another way to win.

Surprise of the Week: Tim Patrick

Patrick has been very solid for the Lions this season and had seen increased involvement in recent weeks, but he was still an unlikely hero on Thursday night by catching a couple of touchdowns in a huge divisional win over Green Bay. Overall, the veteran—who hadn’t scored since 2021—caught six-of-seven targets for 43 yards, and he will remain a factor into the fantasy and real-life playoffs.

Disappointment of the Week: Jayden Reed

On the other side of the primetime battle between the Packers and Lions, Reed was held without a catch to start many fantasy owners with a zero on the scoreboard in a potential do-or-die spot. Bucky Irving (back) leaving early is another candidate here, but a goose egg can be difficult to overcome, and it came after Reed had 113 receiving yards in the first matchup.

Rookie of the Week: Isaac Guerendo

If the foot injury for Guerendo ends up being his only chance to lead the backfield this season, he certainly came through with a high-end RB1 finish—and fantasy owners that were banking on him in the playoffs should just be happy the injury didn’t occur earlier in the game. Hopefully the injury doesn’t keep the rookie out for an extended period of time, but assuming he’s out on a short week, Patrick Taylor Jr. is now expected to lead the San Francisco backfield.

Week 14 MVP: Josh Allen

Allen’s 51.88 fantasy points was one of the best performances of all-time, and he’s put on the cape recently with back-to-back historic outings—and six rushing touchdowns over his past four games. Another shootout can be expected against the Lions in Week 15, so Allen should be the top quarterback play to begin the fantasy playoffs.
