Team of the Week
QB: Caleb Williams, CHI
Williams was entering a great spot in Week 3 with the Dallas defense banged up and struggling—and he took full advantage with 298 yards and four touchdowns through the air in a 31-14 victory. There was surely a little more motivation facing his former head coach in Matt Eberflus (now defensive coordinator for the Cowboys), and Williams is trending up ahead of another favorable matchup next week in Las Vegas.
RB: Jonathan Taylor, TEN
Tennessee did a decent job bottling up Taylor early on yesterday, but it didn’t last long as he eventually ripped them for 17 carries, 102 yards, and three touchdowns as the Indy offense continued to roll. Taylor is currently the top-scoring running back on the young season and is clearly a high-end RB1 when healthy.
RB: Jordan Mason, MIN
The first start for Mason with Aaron Jones Sr. (hamstring) on injured reserve went about as well as possible—as the power runner bruised his way to 116 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. Even with tougher matchups coming up (@ PIT, @ CLE, v PHI), Mason will be at least a high-end RB2 with a workhorse role.
WR: Tre Tucker, LV
Tucker was coming off just three receptions (on eight targets) for 12 yards last Monday night—but the connection with Geno Smith was firmly on the same page against Washington by catching eight-of-nine targets for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Now suddenly the overall WR3 through three weeks, Tucker is on the FLEX radar next week against the Bears.
WR: Courtland Sutton, DEN
Sutton is another wide receiver that was quiet in Week 2 with just one catch for six yards, but he got back on track with a 6/118/1 line that was highlighted by a 52-yard touchdown on a big fourth down play. Sean Payton making sure Sutton is involved following a disappointing week has been a theme since last year, which fantasy owners should obviously be happy about.
TE: Hunter Henry, NE
On a day where the New England offense struggled with five turnovers in a 21-14 loss, Henry was the centerpiece of the passing attack—catching eight-of-11 targets for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Look for him to remain heavily involved next week against a beatable Carolina defense.
FLEX: Omarion Hampton, LAC
The Chargers had been leaning more on Najee Harris with Hampton struggling a bit to begin his career, but the unfortunate Achilles injury opened the door for the rookie to be the clear lead back—and he turned 25 touches into 129 yards and a touchdown in a win over Denver. Now set to have the goal-line role to himself in addition to increased receiving work, Hampton is trending way up.
D/ST: Minnesota Vikings
It’s tough to imagine an uglier offensive performance that was Cincinnati had yesterday—and the Vikings showed they remain a top unit with five takeaways, four sacks, and two touchdowns in a 48-10 demolition. The 32.0 fantasy points certainly tilted plenty of matchups, and Minnesota will be an elite option next week against a Pittsburgh offense that is still finding their groove.
K: Chase McLaughlin, TB
McLaughlin carried some risk with him entering Week 3 by hitting just one-of-three field goal attempts to begin 2025—but he nailed five attempts and finished with 20.0 fantasy points (even with the Jets blocking one of his kicks). For those who stuck with him, McLaughlin should be a stable option moving forward.
Surprise of the Week: Tre Tucker
Tucker was compared to Santana Moss by Geno Smith in the offseason, and he lived up to that comparison against one of Moss’s former teams with the 36.9-point performance. Especially as the Raiders get the running game going, Tucker should be on the receiving end of downfield shots in Chip Kelly’s offense.
Disappointment of the Week: CeeDee Lamb
It was another week of major disappointments for some top stars around the league, but Lamb started the year on fire and didn’t even get a shot to do damage versus a Chicago defense that was just ripped by Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 9/115/3 line. The silver lining is that Lamb’s ankle injury isn’t as bad as initially feared, so we’ll see if he can suit up next Sunday night after being held without a target before leaving in Week 3.
Rookie of the Week: Omarion Hampton
Cam Skattebo (21.1 fantasy points) had a definite case here as one of the lone bright spots for New York last night—as he totaled 121 yards and a touchdown versus a Kansas City defense that can be stingy against the run. But Hampton edged him out with 21.9 fantasy points to finish as a top-10 overall scorer for the week. There will be a case for RB1/RB2 potential next week against the 0-3 Giants.
Week 3 MVP: Vikings D/ST
Tre Tucker could have been the choice here, but he wasn’t widely used in redraft leagues—while the Vikings were the difference in countless fantasy matchups. The performance has a very good shot of ending up as the top D/ST score of the year, and Isaiah Rodgers Sr. played the biggest role in the explosion with two touchdowns in a career day for him.
