Team of the Week
QB: Caleb Williams, CHI
Williams and the Chicago offense started slow in London, but they eventually caught fire—with the No. 1 overall pick connecting on 23-of-29 passes for 226 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception while also adding four carries for 56 yards. Basically, the performance showed that Williams is the total package at the quarterback position, and he gets another cupcake matchup after a Week 7 bye for a showdown versus Jayden Daniels.
RB: Sean Tucker, TB
Talent should have never been in question for Tucker, and he got the opportunity to shine yesterday with Rachaad White (groin) out—resulting in 17 touches for 192 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-27 victory. The second-year runner had flashed on kick returns so far in 2024, and now he’s suddenly on the radar in all fantasy leagues for what could turn into a full-blown committee.
RB: Joe Mixon, HOU
The status of Mixon (ankle) appeared bleak during the practice week with no participation on Wednesday and then two limited sessions, but he returned to the lineup and immediately put up big-time numbers—turning 15 touches into 132 yards and two touchdowns versus an overmatched New England squad. Most importantly, Mixon coming out of the game healthy has him back on track for RB1 value moving forward.
WR: Chris Godwin, TB
Godwin was unstoppable with 11 receptions (on 13 targets) for 125 yards and two scores in the blowout win over New Orleans, but his highlight 55-yard touchdown was needed to give Tampa Bay the lead late in the third quarter and eventually open the floodgates for them. Godwin is clearly playing some of the best football of his career with strong hands, reliability in traffic, and great run-after-catch ability.
WR: A.J. Brown, PHI
Fantasy owners have been waiting since Week 1 to get Brown back in lineups, and he didn’t disappoint at all in his return—catching six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in a tough matchup versus Cleveland. In general, it was encouraging for Brown to be highlighted both on shorter in-breaking routes and down the field, and he should be a high-end WR1 the rest of the way.
TE: Cole Kmet, CHI
Kmet had an extremely efficient day in London, as he needed just five targets to go for a 5/70/2 line and week-leading 21.5 fantasy points among tight ends—shaking off a quiet start by totaling 20.7+ fantasy points in two of the past four weeks. The former Notre Dame standout even stepped up as the long snapper in the win (though you don’t get fantasy points for that).
FLEX: Derrick Henry, BAL
It’s been clear since Week 3 that Henry is already in dominant form, and that continued in the win over Washington with 24 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns. With a touchdown in every game to begin his Baltimore reign, King Henry is our top fantasy running back to roster for the remainder of 2024.
D/ST: Detroit Lions
The Lions took full advantage of their bye week to formulate a top-notch game plan on both sides of the ball versus Dallas—and the defensive performance went somewhat overlooked by totaling five takeaways and four sacks to finish with 19.0 fantasy points.
K: Jake Bates, DET
Bates also did his part for Detroit in a complete team effort—nailing all nine of his kicks (including four field goals) to match the D/ST with 19.0 fantasy points; consistency is the worry for the strong-legged Bates, but he’s clearly gaining confidence.
Surprise of the Week: Sean Tucker
You can read our full scouting report on Tucker to see why his breakout wasn’t entirely surprising, but he went undrafted in 2023 and had averaged 1.8 yards per carry on limited touches to begin his career—so no one would have expected him to rush 14 times for 136 yards (9.7 YPC) and a touchdown versus a tough Saints team. Tucker’s stock is pointing way up after being on the fringes of fantasy relevancy.
Disappointment of the Week: Chris Olave
Week 6 was brutal for injuries to key players, as Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion) and Dallas Goedert (hamstring) were held without a catch, and Travis Etienne (hamstring) had negative-one yard before leaving in London—but a concussion for Olave unfortunately came on his first reception and led to a lost fumble to finish with -1.0 fantasy point. The hype with rookie Spencer Rattler talking up Olave made the injury even worse for fantasy owners, and the deep threat will almost certainly miss Thursday night’s matchup versus Denver.
Rookie of the Week: Caleb Williams
Tyrone Tracy Jr. (19.7 fantasy points) deserves recognition for the second great start in a row, but Williams ripping the Jaguars for a season-high 28.64 fantasy points allowed him to pay off as a top-ten option—and he finished as the overall QB1 (pending MNF) a week after finishing as the overall QB6. Williams could have had an even bigger day if not for underthrowing DJ Moore on a would-be touchdown, but he was otherwise excellent.
Week 6 MVP: Chris Godwin
Again, Godwin is playing some of the best football of his career, and the new offensive system with increased action in the slot had certainly paid off thus far. On the season, Godwin now comfortably leads the NFL in receptions (43) and is averaging a career-best 81.1 receiving yards per game and is the No. 2 fantasy wideout through six weeks.
