Week 6 Fantasy Football Awards 2025

Team of the Week

QB: Patrick Mahomes, KC

Mahomes was expected to have a big night with Detroit’s secondary dealing with a bunch of injuries, and he didn’t disappoint at all—completing 22-of-30 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns while adding 10 carries for 32 yards and another score. Even without Rashee Rice in the lineup, Mahomes has been a high-end QB1 option with 26.0+ fantasy points in four-of-six games.

RB: Rico Dowdle, CAR

Dowdle called his shot heading into a matchup versus the Cowboys, and he had another dominant performance with 30 carries for 183 yards and a 4/56/1 receiving line. The score was an excellent play design that got Dowdle wide open for six, and he’s rushed for 389 yards and averaged 7.3 yards per carry in two games as the starter.

RB: Cam Skattebo, NYG

A banged-up Philadelphia defense led to the worst outing for them in years, and they were not at all prepared for the physicality of Skattebo last Thursday night—as he pummeled his way to 110 total yards and three rushing touchdowns in an upset win. Tyrone Tracy Jr. returning to the lineup didn’t impact Skattebo, and the rookie has gone for 21+ touches in each of the past three games.

WR: George Pickens, DAL

The WR1 stretch for Pickens with CeeDee Lamb (ankle) out has gone about as well as expected—and Week 6 was another monster performance with nine receptions for 168 yards and a touchdown. Since a quiet opener, Pickens has scored in every game with 12.7+ fantasy points in five straight outings.

WR: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA

Smith-Njigba has been red hot all year, and the win over Jacksonville was his best performance of the season with eight receptions (on 13 targets) for 162 yards and a touchdown on his way to 26.2 fantasy points. The highlight for JSN was a 61-yard deep ball where he ran right past new Jaguars cornerback Greg Newsome II, and we’ll see if Houston has any answers for him next Monday night.

TE: Dallas Goedert, PHI

Lost in the struggles of the Philadelphia offense, Goedert has been a high-end TE1 option with terrific weekly involvement—going for 7.9+ fantasy points in every game and a season-best 9/110/1 line last Thursday night. A case could be made to sell high on Goedert with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith almost needing to be more productive soon, but he’ll be a no-doubt TE1 next week in Minnesota.

FLEX: De’Von Achane, MIA

Achane has been one of the lone bright spots for Miami in a 1-5 start, and he did all he could in the loss to the Chargers with 20 touches for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Cleveland will be a tougher draw in Week 7, but Achane showed his big-play upside with a 49-yard touchdown yesterday and is highly involved as a receiver.

D/ST: Denver Broncos

A couple of short fields for the Jets led to six early points for them—but Denver was completely dominant on defense by sacking Justin Fields nine times and allowing just 82 yards in London. Maybe the travel will impact them next week against the Giants, but the Broncos will arguably again be the top play of Week 7.

K: Eddy Pineiro, SF

Pineiro has been on fire since signing with the 49ers—and Kyle Shanahan’s offense consistently moving the ball has been to plenty of opportunities for him. In the loss to Tampa Bay, Pineiro nailed all four of his field goals on the way to 18.0 fantasy points, and he’s gone 15-of-15 on field goals this year.

Surprise of the Week: Kimani Vidal

Vidal leading the Los Angeles backfield with was certainly a possibility in the first game without Omarion Hampton (ankle) in the lineup, but it was still a surprise to see him handle 21 touches for 138 yards and a touchdown to currently sit as the overall RB6 heading into the Monday night doubleheader. At the same time, Hassan Haskins rushed six times for 14 yards in the win, so the more versatile Vidal should be the clear backfield leader next week against the Colts.

Disappointment of the Week: Rams passing attack

As always, the choice here could go in a variety of directions—but the Rams seemed primed for an explosion against a struggling Baltimore defense and all disappointed through the air with Matthew Stafford (9.34 fantasy points), Puka Nacua (3.8), and Davante Adams (5.9) all falling well short of expectations. Wind might have been a factor, but for Adams, he was missed early on a couple of would-be touchdowns with Stafford sailing the throws; and Nacua went down with an ankle injury that leaves his status in doubt despite returning briefly in the second half.

Rookie of the Week: Cam Skattebo

The success of Skattebo isn’t entirely surprising (we had him as our No. 30 overall prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft), but NFL teams have not appeared ready to handle his physicality—leading to 90+ total yards in each of the past four games. With Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) going down yesterday, there is a legitimate opening for Skattebo to be NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year if he can keep up his recent play.

Week 6 MVP: Rico Dowdle

Dowdle getting MVP honors for the second week in a row speaks to how good he’s been as the starter, and he again leads all fantasy scorers (31.9 points after 30.9 points in Week 5) pending the results tonight. Now up to the overall RB11 on the season, we don’t see how some are still believing Chuba Hubbard (calf) could take over the lead role upon his return.
