Wolf Sports 2023 Fantasy Consigliere Draft Guide Preview

On June 1, all Fantasy Consigliere members will immediately get access to the PDF version of our 2023 draft guide, which includes outlooks and projections for hundreds of players, rankings for all scoring formats, bold predictions, and more.

The guide will also be available to purchase physically, and below is a preview for Giants running back Saquon Barkley:

3. Saquon Barkley, NYG

2022 statistics: 295 ATT, 1,312 YDS, 10 TD | 57 REC, 338 YDS

2023 projections: 301 ATT, 1,355 YDS, 10 TD | 57 REC, 383 YDS, 2 TD

Barkley being ranked this high is a somewhat shaky proposition without him signing his franchise tag up to this point, as there is real concern about him holding out with general manager Joe Schoen and the Giants dug in on the negotiations—before the draft, Schoen even aired out the situation in public by telling the media they’d have to “ask [Barkley]” about talks because “nothing’s changed” for the franchise. Ultimately, it seems New York expects Saquon to either agree to a team-friendly deal or play on the tag, and the former No. 2 overall pick might feel slighted considering what he meant to the franchise’s 2022 turnaround. All that said, Barkley proved he remains a difference-maker and game-breaker when on the field, particularly early last season when the Giants started 7-2 while giving him over 25.2 touches per game. If a holdout (or “hold-in”) doesn’t linger deep into the summer, Barkley should be drafted as a high-end RB1 with more help around him in 2023.
