A few guys have really separated themselves in the Heisman race after the first full month of the 2024 college football season.
1. Jalen Milroe | Alabama QB | Junior (RS) | Last week: 3 (+2)
Not only did Jalen Milroe play lights out early to help Alabama build a 28-0 lead over Georgia, but he delivered another one of his deep strike touchdown throws for the game-winning score after Georgia stunned to take a 34-33 lead. Milroe’s night included him going 27/33 passing for 374 yards and two touchdowns (one interception off a deflection), with another 117 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

2. Travis Hunter | Colorado WR/CB | Junior | Last week: 1 (-1)
Travis Hunter recorded his second interception of the season in the upset win over UCF, and he put up nine receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown on offense. Helping Hunter’s Heisman candidacy is his Colorado squad exceeding many of the outside expectations early during their 4-1 start.

16 TKL | 1 TFL | 1 FF | 2 INT | 3 PD
3. Cam Ward | Miami QB | Senior (RS) | Last week: 2 (-1)
Any of these top three could easily be in the top slot over a month into the 2024 college football season. Cam Ward totaled 400 yards of offense and five total touchdowns in Miami’s controversial win over Virginia Tech on Friday night—overcoming a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

4. Ashton Jeanty | Boise State RB | Junior | Last week: 5 (+1)
The video game numbers continue for Ashton Jeanty at running back, as he put up 26 carries for 259 yards and four touchdowns—bringing his statistics after four games to an insane 845 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. Jeanty already has two games with four touchdowns this season.
Season stats:
82 CAR | 845 RUSH YDS | 13 RUSH TD | 10.3 AVG
6 REC | 19 REC YDS | 3.2 AVG
5. Dillon Gabriel | Oregon QB | Senior (RS) | Last week: NR
As things currently stand, the top four should be pretty clear at this point for most. Dillon Gabriel gets the nod at No. 5 after a strong night in the win at UCLA, including a smooth touchdown dime from the lefty while rolling to his left.
