Strengths

Natural stickiness in coverage. Always finds a way to be near his matchup when beat. Extremely competitive at the catch point. Top-tier confidence. Seems to take it personal when he allows a reception. Plus overall instincts and awareness. Quick to break on the ball. Effective in press or off-man coverage. Effective hand usage at the line of scrimmage. Very good feet and change-of-direction skills. Great play recognition in zone coverage. Can bait quarterbacks into a throw for him to undercut. Mostly lined up at left cornerback but played the right side and in the slot. Will get in position to make a tackle when he needs to. Disguises cornerback blitzes. Rarely challenged in 2019 game versus Alabama.

Weaknesses

Too often caught on his heels. Footwork can get sloppy on vertical routes. Will get turned around at times. Concerns about deep speed against NFL receivers. Susceptible to double moves. Limited play strength for his listed size. Lacks aggressiveness against the run. Often too low or too high as a tackler.

Conclusion

Overall, Fulton is a natural cover corner with the competitiveness and confidence to defend anyone that lines up across from him in both man and zone coverage. To reach his full potential at the next level, Fulton needs to improve as a tackler and prove he has the speed to prevent the deep ball.
