Strengths

Compact and athletic build. Muscular and strong upper body with great length for his size/skills. Tremendous athleticism for an interior defender. Light on his feet. Quick first step and low out of his stance. Very good initial pop at the point of attack. Stays balanced. Intelligent and instinctive. Great acceleration. Can side step and accelerate. Active feet. Has natural strength to take on blockers and push them back. Low center of gravity allows him to win with leverage. Violent mover and finisher. Flashes a spin move and should be able to develop it as a pass rusher. Fights to get through double teams. Plus versatility. Can match up against both guard and tackles. Effective on stunts. Times up jumps at the line of scrimmage to deflect passes.

Weaknesses
Doesn’t always play as twitchy as his athletic numbers. Hands could be more technically sound. Would like to see more chase down effort when the play goes away from him.

Conclusion

Overall, Madubuike is an athletic interior defensive lineman that plays with very impressive strength for his size and is able to win by staying low after a quick first step. I would like to see the flashes of terrorizing play show up on a more consistent basis, but Madubuike profiles as a prototype 3-technique.
