Strengths

Prototype man corner. Tremendous speed. Great acceleration and closing burst. Extremely fluid overall athlete. Exceptional movement skills. Ideal technique in bump-and-run coverage. Trusts his feet in man coverage. Very quick to flip his hips. Zero wasted motion in transition to sprint. Has the athletic profile and confidence to shadow an opponent’s top receiver. Will undercut routes to deflect passes. Accurate hand placement on pass breakups. Plus ball skills. Has experience at both left and right cornerback. Can travel into the slot. Will make a tackle if he’s the attacker. Does a great job timing blitzes from the perimeter. Challenged by top competition in the SEC for multiple years.

Weaknesses

Poor technique as a tackler in space. Will dive at ankles rather than attempt to make a square-up tackle. Not quite as effective in off-man coverage. Sometimes allows too much separation on in-breaking routes. Lacks play recognition in zone coverage. Can have trouble playing the ball in the air.

Conclusion

Overall, Henderson is a potential lockdown perimeter corner that will be best used in press-man coverage, but needs to significantly improve his tackling at the next level to become a complete player. In a deep cornerback class, I would probably rather pull the trigger early on Day 2.
