Strengths
Crafty route runner out of the slot. Patient and deceptive. Excellent footwork. Routinely creates separation on short and intermediate routes. Ideal size and length with plus play strength. Hands are soft and reliable. Shows courage catching passes over the middle. Makes sure the ball remains secure through contact. Eyes are quick to locate the ball. Impressive reaction time to protect himself from hits. Great acceleration and quickness. Has the long speed to challenge vertically. Will run right past unprepared cornerbacks on slot fades. Very fluid adjusting to the ball and will wait until the last moment to avoid tipping his hand. Knows how to find holes against zone coverage. Gets open on broken plays. Slippery after the catch. Good contact balance. Has made clutch plays against top competition and in big games.
Weaknesses
Almost exclusively lined up in the slot. Benefitted from constant free releases and single coverage on a loaded offense. Can dance a bit on more complex routes down the field. Gives quality effort as a blocker but needs to be more consistently effective.

Conclusion
Overall, Jefferson is a very dangerous weapon out of the slot with the footwork, hands, and athleticism to frustrate defenses as a chain-mover on short/intermediate routes. It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to NFL coverage and whether he can play more on the perimeter, but Jefferson should be a good value late on Day 1 or early on Day 2.
He’s gonna get the nickname stretch no doubt.
