Strengths

Excellent overall athleticism. Good frame/build. Very light on his feet. Base is wide and balanced. Fluid hips to deal with change of direction. Does a great job staying in front as a run blocker. Extremely strong and effective hands. Strikes are very accurate. Generates movements on down blocks. Squares up and erases smaller defenders. Very good acceleration as a puller or working to the second level. Effective on cut blocks. High awareness in pass protection. Able to quickly switch targets in pass protections. Impressive field vision. Should be able to easily neutralize stunts. Quick to help with a chip if he can. Strong ability to latch on and anchor down. Smooth opening up to reach pure speed rushes. Effective walling off for moving pockets. Experience at both left and right tackle. Improved after early struggles versus K’Lavon Chaisson in 2019 LSU game.

Weaknesses

Pass sets can be too much of a backpedal style rather than a slide. Average mirror skills considering overall athleticism. Doesn’t consistently have the edge to drive/bury defenders. Susceptible to inside rushes.

Conclusion

Overall, Cosmi is an athletic offensive tackle that best fits in a zone-blocking scheme to maximize his effectiveness with hand usage and positioning. The weaknesses can likely be cleaned up to make him a complete player at either left or right tackle.
