Strengths

Great versatility as a safety/slot. Prototype overall size. Phenomenal ball skills and production. Smooth mover. High awareness and quick eyes to find the ball. Easily stays with receivers when in phase in man coverage. Very good feet in press-man coverage. Plays with ideal physicality. Exceptional ability to deflect passes across the middle on short/intermediate throws. Extremely accurate breaking up passes in general. Reads the field well and reacts quickly as a zone defender. Gets his head around to locate the ball on downfield passes. Plus acceleration/burst. Very reliable wrap-up tackler. Excellent play recognition and decisiveness to fill a running lane. Strong taking on blockers. Brings added value as a punt returner and can cover kicks/punts.

Weaknesses

Will allow some vertical separation from the slot. A bit slow opening up to sprint. Average top speed. Too flat-footed at times in cushion coverage. Needs to be quicker to move feet in off-man coverage rather than putting his hands on bigger opponents. Can break down more to avoid missing a target in his sights.

Conclusion

Overall, Holland is a versatile safety with great playmaking ability and strong coverage skills from the slot. He isn’t someone teams will want to use as a single-high safety, but Holland can do a lot for defensive coordinators at the next level.
