Strengths

Great downfield perimeter threat. Big-bodied target that plays like it. Extremely strong and physical. Athletic and explosive. Impressive build-up speed to get deep. Snatches passes off his frame. Skies for jump balls in contested coverage. Tracks the long ball at a high level. Natural body control to adjust in midair. Excellent on back-shoulder passes. Dangerous red-zone weapon. Reliable sitting in holes for quick-strike throws. Shows quality deceptiveness at times for a bigger target. Effective on crossing routes and slants. Very competitive in one-on-one battles with cornerbacks. Made a number of spectacular catches and clutch plays throughout his career. Has some elusiveness with the ball and combines it with strength to create yards after the catch. Plenty of experience on both sides and saw snaps in the slot. Exceptional run blocker that uses his frame to stay in front of guys.

Weaknesses

Too many focus drops and very inconsistent hands in general. Struggles securing the ball with a defender on him when working back to the quarterback. Needs to be better at completing the catch instead of loosely holding the ball away from his body. Average quickness. A bit stiff in and out of breaks. Not a complex route runner. Overall ability to separate is lacking.

Conclusion

Overall, Williams is a big-play weapon that has the athletic profile to be great on the boundary and in scoring territory. He needs to clean up some of the inconsistencies, but teams should feel confident about Williams as a strong Day 2 pick to add a vertical element to the offense.
