Strengths

Ideal overall build/size with above-average length. Great acceleration and speed. Excellent first-step quickness. Tremendous pursuit speed to close the gap. Extremely effective spin move and gets his arms involved to twirl at blockers. Good speed rush with the ability to reach for sacks when he’s close. Effective jumping chop move. Has flashed high-end potential stringing moves together. Possesses an impressive half-spin fake to play off the spin move. Knows how to use subtleness in upper body to fool opponents. Good ability to flatten on the speed rush. Attacks the football to cause strip sacks. Rangy tackler. Very good ability to set the edge. Extends to keep blockers off and is quick to disengage. Makes the play for himself when setting the edge. Able to stick with tight ends in the flat. Shows fire when the defense makes a key stop. Still improving with one season of notable experience at Michigan. Born in Nigeria and grew up in Scotland. High school track star.

Weaknesses

Has some stiffness in his hips. Average of change-of-direction skills for his athleticism. Loses balance too easily. More of a straight-line player. Will get driven back in the running game. Would like to see better effort chasing down the ball-carrier away from the action. Can be more relentless through traffic. Used as part-time player versus run-heavy teams late in the season. Will struggle to stick with running backs and tight ends on complex routes. Recovering from torn Achilles suffered at March Pro Day.

Conclusion

Overall, Ojabo is an ascending edge defender that has flashed big-time potential as a pass rusher with the ability to string moves together. He’s far from being a finished all-around product, but the high ceiling puts him in play as a potential top-20 pick.
