Strengths

Ideal overall size for a zone blocking guard. Great movement skills. Superb athleticism and balance. Light feet and fluid hips to easily rotate and find a target to hit. Quick reaction time. Positions himself to create a lane a keep it sealed.  Strong hands to remain engaged while driving. Exceptional ability to reposition. Very accurate on blocks to the second level. Very good acceleration. Tight and efficient as a puller. Good patience and won’t overextend blocking defenders in space. Physical and aggressive. Doesn’t think twice about hitting someone outside of his assignment. Will hit opponents clearly away from the play for the fun of it. Base is wide and strong in pass protection. Moves his feet as an interior pass protector. Excellent vision in protection. Has experience filling in at left tackle and meets arm length threshold. Has the skillset to slide over to center and spent time there at the Senior Bowl. Played great versus Kentucky (2021).

Weaknesses

General strength/power could be more of an issue at the point of attack versus NFL competition. Footwork is more segmented as a pass protector when playing tackle. Sets at left tackle don’t get enough depth. Kick slides in general can be slow for his skillset.

Conclusion

Overall, Strange is an athletic interior offensive lineman with great movement skills and aggressiveness while remaining under control. He is an ideal fit in a zone blocking scheme and has a strong case to be taken in Round 2.
