Strengths

Excellent coverage ability. Light on his feet. Extremely fluid movement skills in coverage. Plus speed and acceleration. Very efficient in coverage transitions out of the backpedal/shuffle. Quick turning his hips in coverage. Has made plays in coverage when dropping deep outside the numbers. Very good route recognition in zone coverage. Will contact receivers in his zone to disrupt their route. Exceptional mirror skills for a linebacker in man coverage. Mostly played overhang linebacker/slot position. Great pursuit and plays hard. Physical as a finisher and wraps up. Will stick his nose in to make a tackle. Quick getting around blocks. Great burst as a blitzer from the edge. Saw snaps on the edge and dropped in coverage from there. Does a quality job setting the edge at his size. Will chop down bigger blockers to avoid being taken out. Started college career at safety.

Weaknesses

Could be considered undersized for every-down duties at linebacker. Usually off the field in base personnel despite age/experience. Not used in goal-line situations. Can have more control as a tackler with a clean shot in space. Has endured various injuries throughout career (including two torn ACLs).

Conclusion

Overall, Domann is an excellent cover linebacker that can make an impact neutralizing tight ends in the passing game. He should be a solid selection late on Day 2 for a defense with a specific role for him in sub packages.
