Strengths

Prototype overall build. Strong and very physical player. Fast and aggressive. Extremely reliable wrap-up tackler. Great vision and instincts. Tremendous at shuffling into position to make a square-up tackle. Rangy finisher that can bring down quicker ball-carriers in his vicinity. Uses length to extend and keep blockers off his frame. Excellent quickness to stick with receivers in underneath coverage. Aggressive within five yards and will leave no space for opponents. Can erase opponents in shallow coverage. Great ability to plant and go to make a tackle in the flat. Able to defend tight ends down the seam and is comfortable with his back to the quarterback. Used on a variety of blitzes up the middle. Has played snaps on the edge.

Weaknesses

Limited twitch getting off and around blocks. Would like to see him try to dart between/around blockers going downhill. Pursuit speed/hustle to the sideline should be better considering skillset. Can roam at times in zone coverage. Would like to see him read the quarterback’s eyes to anticipate a throw. Blitzes were often ineffective.

Conclusion

Overall, Walker is an aggressive linebacker that tackles at a high level and can make a difference in coverage. He will be a target for teams that want a solid, well-rounded option on Day 2.
