Strengths

Tremendous size and catch radius. Very fluid movement skills at his size. Hands are big and strong. Catches the ball away from his body. Great ability to create space with a subtle push off at the top of routes. Securely makes grabs in traffic. Big-time weapon on short posts in the red zone. Excellent feet near the boundary. High intelligence to find holes versus zone coverage. Outstanding speed. Impressive ability to sink hips as a route runner. Has some shake and uses head fakes to manipulate defenders. Quick eyes to locate short passes. Very effective tracking touch passes down the seam. Very good reaching down or going to the ground for a catch. Smooth and athletic with the ball in his hands. Size and reach allow him to shield off as a blocker in space. Spent most time as a pass-catcher lined up in the slot. Effective on slants outside the numbers. Sometimes commanded multiple defenders (end of Oklahoma game in 2021).

Weaknesses

Lacks aggression as a blocker. Not a very effective blocker in general. Can be slower earlier in the route and would like to see more burst. Too easily disrupted by close contact in the middle of routes.

Conclusion

Overall, Kolar is big, fluid tight end with great hands and high upside as a target in scoring territory. In a strong class for the position on Day 2, Kolar is going under the radar as a good value in the third round.
