Strengths

Dangerous downfield threat. Above-average speed with an easy and gliding style. Great release footwork to stack cornerbacks vertically. Dips his shoulder to avoid contact. Excellent stutter-and-go move that gets cornerbacks to bite. Leverages cornerbacks with full-speed cuts on deep routes. Phenomenal tracking ability on downfield throws. Accelerates late to get the go ball. Very smooth catching over the shoulder. Big hands and catches away from his body. Very good ability to reach and secure passes slightly behind him. Shows courage over the middle. Crafty footwork to win inside on slants. Impressive general separation quickness. Breaks are crisp on speed outs. Doesn’t make it obvious when used to pick defenders. Great blocker that gives desired effort. Uses his hands and understands positioning. Mostly lined up on the left side but has experience both sides and in the slot. Played very well versus Alabama and made a highlight one-handed grab in contested coverage along the sideline (2021). Couldn’t be stopped from getting behind Tulane defense (2021).

Weaknesses

Limited route tree in spread offense. Will have some focus drops. Limited production after the catch. Durability is an issue with various injuries throughout his career.

Conclusion

Overall, Sanders is a big-play threat that knows how to get vertical against one-on-one coverage outside the numbers. Because of the nuance he has with release footwork and downfield routes, Sanders should outplay his draft slot with a projected range around the sixth round.
