Strengths

Top-tier speed for an edge. Excellent overall athleticism. Rarely ends up on the ground. Great understanding/feel for rush angles. Effective rip move from either side. Very quick sidestep move. Uses a gather step and dip combination. Possesses a tight spin move. Takes down the quarterback by engulfing with both arms. Can force quarterbacks to step up with outside rushes. Closes quickly with combination of speed and length. Flashes impressive first-step quickness. Very aggressive tackler. Technically sound and wraps up opponents. Phenomenal in backside pursuit. Fast crashing down the line of scrimmage to play the run. Keeps weak side responsibility but is ready to make a play. Quick to shed blocks before opponents engage. Effective on stunts. Used as a stand-up rusher on the interior and is often too quick for guards. Experience playing underneath zone coverage. Terrific fitness and seems to never leave the field. Made a head-on goal-line tackle versus Alabama (2022).

Weaknesses

Needs to improve significantly as the run side defender. Allowed far too many big runs on his side. Would like to see more focus setting the edge. Slow getting off blocks and countering when pass blockers latch onto him. Average bend considering his athleticism. Would like to see him tighten up rushes to capture the corner more easily. Almost completely neutralized versus former Mississippi State left tackle Charles Cross (2021).

Conclusion

Overall, Ojulari is a very impressive pass rusher with a great assortment of moves in the toolbox that he’s still putting together. The best fit for him would be as a 3-4 outside linebacker on a defense that can generate consistent interior pressure.
