Strengths
Athletic and well-proportioned frame. Outstanding quickness and functional athleticism. High awareness. Will bring extreme aggression to the offensive line. Uses strength to torque defenders to the ground. Tremendous footwork to make every block in the running game. Hips are extremely fluid. Very smooth in space. Great acceleration. Efficient hitting his marks in space. Quick working to the second level. Excellent on pulls to the perimeter. Terrific vision and reaction time. Has shown he can get low to create leverage on down blocks. Doesn’t hesitate to inflict punishment. Hustles to get out ahead of the action. Finishes plays and will try to drive opponents into the stands. Natural mirror skills in pass protection. Good ability to speed up his feet. Strong hands to clamp on rushers. Played very well versus Arizona (2022). Shows passion and excitement about team success. Absolute character that had two front teeth knocked out as a kid and declined to have them fixed. Former high school tight end and quarterback. All-region standout in high school basketball and also played baseball.
Weaknesses
Below-average length at offensive tackle. Can come out high off the ball and be too upright in general. Length issues show when unable to get his hands on some quicker moving targets. Technique needs refinement in pass protection. Questionable anchor strength as a pass blocker. Wasn’t really tested by NFL-caliber rushers.

Conclusion
Overall, Mauch is an aggressive, athletic, and quick offensive lineman that can make any block in the running game. A lot of teams might view him as a guard, but Mauch saw limited snaps there in college and has the skillset to be a starting tackle at the next level.
